In the 1960s, the Blues won 6-0 and future Test cricketer Keith Boyce played in goal for Barbados - can anyone tell me when the game was played?

Walked right into that one didn't I?

Was hoping to tie it down to the actual date of the game tbh

Only reference to this game I could find...

Barbados 0 Chelsea 7 (Dennis Brown 3, Eddie McCreadie 2, Frank Upton 2)

21 May 1964, Bridgetown

Part of a West Indies tour, two matches in Barbados, two in Trinidad, five in Jamaica, and two in Haiti.

That's interesting - the few references I found to it in cricket books referred to it being 6-0 - thanks a lot for that

Just out of interest over what period of time did they play those 11 games?

17 days, apparently. Not sure what format these matches took, whether they were the full 90 minutes, 45 minutes, or even 6 or 7 a-side! I got the info from Ron Hockings' "Ninety Years Of The Blues", a fantastic statistical history of Chelsea.

21.05.64 - Chelsea 7 Barbados 0 - Bridgetown - (Brown 3, McCreadie 2, Upton 2)

23.05.64 - Chelsea 1 Wolves 3 - Bridgetown - (Bridges)

26.05.64 - Chelsea 5 Trinidad 0 - Port Of Spain - (Brown 3, Venables, Tambling)

27.05.64 - Chelsea 3 Wolves 2 - Port Of Spain - (McCreadie, Bridges, Venables (pen))

29.05.64 - Chelsea 2 Wolves 4 - Kingston - (Tambling, Bridges)

31.05.64 - Chelsea 15 St. James 0 - Montego Bay - (Tambling 5, Bridges 3, McCreadie 3, Hinton 2, Brown, Venables)

02.06.64 - Chelsea 3 Wolves 0 - Kingston - (McCreadie, Hollins, Tambling)

03.06.64 - Chelsea 12 St. James 1 - Montego Bay - (Tambling 5, McCreadie 3, Hinton 2, Brown 2)

04.06.64 - Chelsea 4 Jamaica XI 1 - Kingston - (Tambling 2, Brown, McCreadie)

06.06.64 - Chelsea 2 Wolves 0 - Port au Prince - (Tambling, Venables)

07.06.64 - Chelsea 1 Haiti 2 - Port au Prince - (Venables (pen), ?) abandoned due to tropical rainstorm

Eddie McCreadie with 11 goals!!!

90 minutes each.

Sorry, I'll f**k off now.

Haha if there's any way to make a Caribbean tour less glamorous it's surely to play Wolves five times in two-and-a-half weeks!

Great information all this.  I never knew about this tour.  Dennis Brown is the same name as a popular Reggae singer who had money in his pocket but just couldn't get no love   .
