Anyone got it yet? I was a huge fan of Fallout 3, and even if they've only added a few extras, I think I'll be getting this very soon. Winter seems like a good time to play these sort of games

Loved Fallout3 and was ready to buy this on it's release date, but I heard that it has a lot of glitches. I am waiting for now until some patching is done...although I might wait even longer and see if they rerelease it as a game of the year edition with the free expansion packs.

 
Really, what are the glitches? I was thinking about getting it, but if the game is unplayable then how long till a patch is released?

 
Had it since release and loving it, its what Fallout 3 should have been. There is talk of glitches but im yet to find anything bad after 20 hours of playing, other than one lockup so its not unplayable in the slightest. Anyone who enjoyed Fallout 3 should definitely get this.

 
Played FO3 and enjoyed it, will definitely pick this one up once the new PC arrives but will most likely not play it as much as Black Ops.

These game things - do you play these on a PC? Is it like the good old days of DOOM? how do you steer and shoot and sh*t?

(OK, three questions)

 
Ive an XBOX 360 and just play on that, gave up on PC gaming a long time ago due to the price of updating gear to be able t play the new games. I remember the good old days of Doom , Xwing v Tie fighter etc, used to play it at lunch time where i worked no a network we had. Bloody brilliant.

 
I still have DOOM on a desktop right next to me as I type. All CTRL keys and left and right arrows to do stuff. Play it out through a 125 watt keyboard amp and it eases the tensions of the day rather nicely. Not sure I could keep up with the modern games, though. Someone gave me Half-life and Unreal - I got bored going through the beginning bits that you had to do before you could start killing sh*t

You should really give Half Life a go, best game Ive ever played. Get an Xbox and get Orange Box for it, all Half life games and episodes plus Portal which is superb. Ah, playing FPS`s with a keyboard, proper gaming.

 
I've never really been that much of a gamer. Loved all the Doom type games back in the day though, including Hexen, Heretic (Doom in tights!) but found Quake boring. The last game I played all the way through was GTA 3, and I'm pretty sure the last one before that was Duke Nukem 3D.

Classic.

 
Got new vegas when it came out, Fallout 3 is probably the second best game ive played but i just cant get into this one like i could before. Dont know what it is but it just isnt as good.

Believe it or not Duke Nukem forever is finally about to be released, after about 10 years ni the making. I loved the old duke Nukem games, such a good laugh.

If it's anything like Duke Nukem 3D it might just even be enough to drag me out of gaming retirement...

 
Well, I loved FO3, so I'm off to buy Vegas today (the game, not the actual city).

I have a PS3 and really like it as a gaming machine. I've downloaded and played a couple of the old Resident Evil games on there, fantastic games to play with the lights off.

Think the last couple of games I played were Arkane Asylum - Batman, which was fantaastic. And before that was Uncharted 2, also fantastic.

Interestingly, I found out that another of my favourite games Myst (not for anyone looking to just run about and kill sh*t), was developed by a couple of lads in the ton I now live in. Designed it in their bedroom, and sold it for millions.

So I just beat the game for the first time. I was trying to work with the NCR, but the game bugged out on me so I had to finish it working by myself. Was a fun game, but I think Fallout3 was more enjoyable in terms of story and environment.

 
I haven't even gotten the case out of its plastic wrapping!

Been playing Fallout 3 Game of the Year edition all this time, and I've thoroughly enjoyed it.

One thing I already don't like about New Vegas is the inability to continue after you've finished the main storyline. That is a massive mess up IMO. They had also done it with the original Fallout 3 but it was modified thanks to the add-ons.

I suppose I'll have my fingers crossed for future add-ons that make New Vegas playable after completing the main storyline.

Not sure what everyone else thinks here but the best bits of completing a game is exploring the world after you've finished the main quests and collect things like special weapons, the bobbleheads in FO3, apparell items, etc. Or exploring and killing mutants or whatever.

Here's hoping that changes for the next Fallout!

 
I agree Exploited, but I don't think you can continue on Falliout 3 either can you? I could be wrong it's been a while since I played it. It is a bit of a disappointment that you can't continue, new vegas isn't quite as good as 3 but is still a great game, the main problem for me is the small part the BoS has to play in this one (Personally, prefered the BoS to the NCR) :JC_doubledown: The downloadable content is also pretty enjoyable!

You could play on in the original if you had the Broken Steel pack downloaded.

I'm doing a lot of random stuff now that I beat the game. Right now I'm basically just hunting down all the deathclaws I can find.
