Yes, very sad indeed. It's difficult for us ordinary mortals to understsnd how a man with so much talent can destroy himself on heroin.

My sympathy to his wife an d children.

 
Terrible loss to cinema & stage. Magnificent actor. Saw all his films but never got to see him perform on stage - apparently his Willy Loman was stupendous. 

 
Very sad indeed. After reading this news, I was talking to my son this morning about this and how awful drugs are hoping to reinforce the facts in his head so if he ever finds himself in a situation that he just stays away.

RIP and our thoughts are with his family.

Unfortunately, a bit like yourself, addiction is a cruel mistress. 

No amount of money or fame can chase away those demons.

It's sad because PSH had overcome his addiction and it was prescription drugs that made him relapse. 

You have to perhaps questions the medical care that the rich and famous receive at times when Michael Jackson, Heath Ledger and now PSH have all died directly or indirectly as a consequence of "prescribed" medicine. 

And that's just three from the top of my head. 

Very talented actor and it's sad to hear of his death.
