Man City Charges

The position I was replying to was united and arsenal will scoop up the titles. Why? Because they have a lot of revenue.

Tottenham are at the level revenue wise that when they crack the sporting side they will be able to win titles. I think they are actually better placed than united because United's ownership and debt levels are a real problem. Tottenham at least are trying to be better - they are just failing

We are falling behind because we don't have a stadium that can bring in the revenue. We are 6th in revenue size, we will fall to 7th or 8th if we don't get a new stadium. We will never go to 4th or 5th without one.

That's what will matter over the next 20-30 years.
We've probably spent as much on total transfer fees as Utd and Arsenal in the last 4 years or very close to it .
Our smaller stadium hasn't stopped us breaking transfer records or assembling the most expensive team recently.

By breaking every loop hole we can find to stay within the rules. Now we are relying on sales.

There's a reason we didn't replace Enzo F. Theres a reason our back up striker is now Danny Welbeck.

Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool and (eventually) United will out compete us on transfers over the next ten years.

If we can build a modern stadium, we will be at that table.

Bordeaux relegated to 6th division of French Football…

"Did Bordeaux say anything about how much this hurt them?"
"not much, they just gave a little wine"

Jokes aside, we're a bit at the stage where there's no movement with the City story so all the media outlets are now just at the stage where all they can do to keep the story on the front/back pages is just continually try to one up each other with showing just how outraged they are. It all gets a bit performative, and that's as someone who thinks the punishment needs to be severe.

Wise word from Joe Cole

Nah, Joe Cole is another person who simply doesn't get it.

Let’s look at Leicester. Three times they finished in the top five, and each time City occupied one of those Champions League spots. That’s hundreds of millions in Champions League revenue Leicester never got, money that could’ve been poured into the squad, the infrastructure, and long‑term stability. Fast forward to today and they’re sitting at the bottom end of League One.

People genuinely aren’t grasping the scale of collateral damage here.
