Andre Onana

Santos, Paez, Casadei, Chucky, Slonina all going to be those type of players who are going to be worth so much more than what we paid for them

in fact you could argue that since we signed them they already have appreciated in value

Paez is now part of the senior Ecuador squad at 16, Santos was called up for the Brazil national team, Casadei can become world champion tonight with 7 goals in 6 games
Hopefully they all do progress and we give them a chance to be stars from us.

Inter absolutely deserve their profit. It's not as if Onana was a completely unknown player before his ban. He had done well at his previous club. We've known for more than a year now that Mendy is a decent but not an elite GK and we could've easily signed Onana instead of Inter. If you want the established players then you will have to pay the premium price. Scouting doesn't matter unless you're ready to take the risk which we're not.
Inter and Rom pulled the biggest con job in football on us, they don't deserve anything from us but contempt.

I think Santos should already be part of our first team. For a young goalkeeper it's really important to get a lot of playing time so i would loan out Slonina, preferably to La Liga so he can learn Spanish and can communicate with all the Argentinians we are bound to get

Maignan is a better keeper, but Onana is quality.

Lafont is a risk but his ceiling is sky high. Although if he has a weakness to his game it's distribution so that doesn't really help since Mendy is a similar profile but low on confidence.

60mill for a loser? Nah we have enough losers at the club already.

Nah Martinez from Villa, World Champion.

Or we stick with Mendy, former European Champion and ACoN Champion.
3x Eredivisie winner and 1x Serie A winner with a handful of domestic cups and individual honours or an older player with one world cup and cups and a few community shields when he sat on the bench for Arsenal hmmmm decisions decisions

Well, we knew Lukaku was a spoilt child and a cancer before we signed him. We knew very well the character we were signing, there is no point in pretending that we got conned.

They want the club to basically give Lukaku back to them for free and on top of that won't lower the 60m asking price for Onana. If we hadn't pulled out of the Ugarte deal I'd fear we'd do something stupid.

Lukaku and Koulibaly plus the 60mill I heard Inter are demanding. So 190mill combined transfer fees?

Surely Koulibaly (£30m), Lukaku 1 year loan (£10m) and £15m cash should be enough to get this over the line and cuts our losses with some dead beat players.

initially i thought the same, but stats wise Onana has a higher save percentage, 5% more than Maignan which is sizeable

I expect this will be the way of it everywhere.

Regardless of taking the pi$$, and why wouldn't they, if you step away from the one or two massive headline transfers there is nowhere near the money per average transfer elsehwere in Europe. Having paid over the odds for these players and then put them on money islands, there is no way we are going to get what we seem to think they're worth. English clubs won't pay these fees for our players when players from the conitnent are potentially much cheaper

In fact more and more of the transfers that we see now are free, with players runnigng contracts down. Ours can't of course cos their contracts run on forever.

in his younger years he was very reckless, now it's more reasonable

They want Lukakus loan fee to be less than the 8mill euros of last summer. I doubt the agree to Koulibaly being worth that much, though maybe he goes to Saudi

Maignan is a much stronger presence in the box, in the air and in his defensive anticipation.

I could be wrong of course, but already in France Maignan was the best keeper for years

I'm glad to be wrong about big Benoît B. Hoping he continues as he's started his Chelsea career.

If Inter are being dicks (what a surprise!!!!), Chelsea should walk away from Onana and leave them holding the bag that is Lukaku.

Although he's more of a sack than a bag, ya know?

Remember when we balked at £60m for Allison then panic bought Kepa for £70m.

Let’s not make the same mistake and commit to our first choice.
