Also, why have Bettinelli on the bench as a 3rd keeper when you could have included Mheuka for some additional cover up front ?

If we need a goal, the only options to bring on are KDH and George !

The only reason we are where we are is because other teams have had a sh*tty inconsistent season. Liverpool have been consistent because of what Klopp left behind and the decent job Slot had done, everyone else just can't put a win streak together. Next season if we are playing this bad and everyone else finds consistency we are mid table at best. We've turned into a slow, ponderous, boring football team under this manager yet he has a wealth of youth and talent at his disposal which he has turned into a sh*t show.

 
For the first time in a very long while I'm pondering whether to watch the game or just spare myself some unneccesary stress and inevitable heartbreak.

It's not even about Palmer missing out as he's been crap for weeks now. It's not about not having a number nine up front to lead the attack or reliable keeper or functioning midfiled because we're signing fragile players that can't stay fit for longer than a couple of weeks at a time and because we're run by incompetent twats.

It's just I have no faith in this group of players or that manager. We've been utter crap since Christmas period and there have been no signs of improvement. I'm expecting nothing good.

 
I've always thought Palmer was the thing holding us back.

Looking forward to seeing Nkunku cutting in from wide left while Fernández and Cucurella fart around in attacking mid.

Missing Cole worries me less than starting Sanchez. Palmer has been poor the last few games supposed to be ill.

There's always a chance we'll turn up.

 
Palmer has been mis-firing vs the bottom of the barrel teams, and he hasn't scored an open play goal vs the traditional top 6 other than Man Utd away last season and maybe on one other occasion?

Him missing out probably won't change anything. That being said, I think we'll still lose. Draw would be a great result imo.

 
You would think without Palmer he would play Nkunku in his ideal position but nope. This was also the opportunity to trust Tyrique George who offers something different to Nkunku & Palmer, pace behind their back line.

Agree with Sexy Football; he is ridiculous for sticking 2 goalies & 4 defenders on the bench.

 
Raheem Sterling is unable to play against his parent club, so we're lucky there.

Cannot see how we are going to do this - one of our "creative" players is going to have to have the game of his life if we are going to have any chance whatsoever.

If Cole was not right, he'd not have been brought on at HT in a second hand competition. He's having a bad run of form and Maresca surely chose to protect him from criticism knowing it's one of the hardest away grounds in the PL.

But IMHO it is a stupid decision as he is our best player and needed in these type of matches no matter his stats.

We are set up for a goalless draw, but my feeling is we'll get thumped by a team playing four defenders and six midfielders (one of which is a bang average Spanish defensive midfielder playing as a false nine). They will probably put four past us with ease...

 
I hate having no confidence in the team. But these players are just so average and the manager being so unlikable.

I just feel so meh towards when we play now and I hate that feeling.

 
At least we’re all expecting a defeat so we can’t be disappointed either way.

Honestly the most poor Chelsea team I’ve ever seen, batsh*t crazy when you consider how much money we’ve spent.

4 or less goal defeat will be a positive.

My biggest gripe will be the sh*te Maresca says after the match. That is what will piss me off the most.

This is a free hit, as when we lose we cant drop out of the top 4,

I think theres more going on behind the scenes then we know, Palmer looks like he is hating the tactics and I wouldn’t be surprised if he hasn’t said something, as someone else said if he had this “so called” injury why did he play 45 mins Wed?
