Chelsea v Arsenal (PL) Sat 21st Oct 2023 17:30 GMT

I think he's shown he does trust him. But that doesnt mean he's ready for a test like Arsenal just yet.

I do agree he probably should've been subbed on, but hindsight is 20:20. When Reece was brought on I thought it was a good decision as his return would lift the players and the crowd, now we're a few days on it's easy to say he should've stayed on the bench in favour of Ugochukwu though.

I didn't post in here immediately after the game but read through later and was surprised how negative a lot of verdicts were. Sure, we should have seen the game out, that's a given. But that's the best we've played against Arsenal in years. Their midfield was made to look so ordinary, fullbacks were exposed, and for most of the game Saka was nullified. The gameplan worked fantastically for almost the entire game.

Should've been 3 points, but at this point in time I'd take 1 point and that level of performance over a smash and grab win.
Replacing Enzo with ugo would not prevent that goal though.

Probably bringing ugo instead of Madueke and ask Gallagher to play wide would but everything is very easy with hindsight.

Gusto was pretty much perfect for nearly all the game, the one mistake cost a goal, it was following on from pretty much the one time Saka got the better of Cucu. Yes it should have been prevented, but you must give Arse some credit, it was a good goal coming from good play. It's still early days yet, but things seem to be improving quicker than i could ever have hoped for. These mistakes will happen, but at this moment it appears they are learning the lessons, so hopefully that situation will not arise again.
