Chelsea vs Hull City (PL) Saturday 12th September 15:00 GMT

This is just before the cross came in for the first Hull goal.

Just look at the positioning of our two centre backs (especially Fofana - sorry Just LOL) ...

The two DMs casually jogging back miles away from covering any runners as well and both on the right hand side of the pitch ...

The defensive shape needs work for sure ...

I'd argue 7 players are contributing to conceding that goal.

  • Gusto for not blocking the cross
  • Fofana and Colwill for poor centre back positioning
  • James and Lavia for strolling about with no sense of any danger
  • Hato for allowing the ball to bounce
  • Martinez for not claiming an easy cross
Out of interest, where do you think Colwill or the midfielders should be here?

Fofana is the only one i look at here and question what he's doing.

What? Fofana had just challenged McBurnie for the aerial ball! That still photo you've chosen is taken literally a second or two after the ball flicked off McBurnie's head. You could argue Fofana didn't challenge him agressively enough, but you cannot in anyway fault his positioning there.

That goal is all on one person, Hato.

Surprise, surprise, surprise you question Fofana.

Surely, Neto had something to do with it as well?

I think ideally you'd want a DM where Fofana is, and Fofana between Colwill and Hato. But we'd still have probably conceded cos they're all sh*t.

omg be silent you hormonal little twerp.

Yes, Fofana is in the wrong position. No, Neto isn't doing anything wrong. Stop f**king crying whenever someone mentions one of these players. Jesus wept.

If you think Fofana isn't in the wrong position, take up another hobby.

Thank you for a sensible response.

That's a shame. I feel differently about you. I hope you are on here a very long time. We badly need your knowlegdeable insight, your impartiality, your acceptance of other people's viewpoints. We are a diverse bunch on here and you add to that. You are "special" in so many ways.

Not sure if it was the first goal or second goal, but when it was cleared to the Hull attacker, he could have rolled a spliff and still had enough time to get his shot away.

Sick to death of our midfield.

Seem to remember the guy who scored the second goal was standing on his own in the D with all of our defenders in the 6 yard box as the cross came in.

Just simple basic awareness sadly lacking - Surely one of players can look up and spot that there's nobody with him. I don't know maybe players panicking at set piece defending focusing only on the attackers around them in the box and losing track of what's going on elsewhere but just needs one person (anywhere) on the pitch to give a shout as to the danger and organise.

In a perfect ideal world, yes. And in a perfect, ideal world I'd have Elon Musk's bank balance and Margot Robbie doing my personal cleaning. But it isn't a perfect ideal world. The move started with a long punt out from the keeper and there was no DM there. In fact initially, when the keeper went to kick it, Gusto was next to McBurnie. But for some reason he stepped away so someone had to go up and challenge their centre-forward. And in that context, of what actually happened, Fofana cannot be faulted for his positioning anymore than Colwill.

I've never seen @just as a hormonal little twerp 🤔 Novel insight into someone who's been a member of the forum and its predecessors longer than anyone else.

Honestly Henderson would improve our defence massively. I never thought I’d ever say this but I really can’t wait for him to get fit.

Henderson & Caicedo is the most balanced midfield imo.

Its 2026, we'd be constantly on the backfoot with Henderson hoofing the ball upfield whenever it came near him like a hot potato.
