This came up last season too with United and City. Both Girona and Man City qualified for the Champions League, which are owned by The City Football Group and INEOS owned Nice and part of United. From what I understood at the time is that they were only allowed to own below 30% of shares, or put all of their shares into a blind trust that UEFA would oversee.Yeah that may well happen, though I thought the deadline was April 30th. No news has come through about that so am guessing we did not do so.
I think both The City Football Group and INEOS chose to transfer their shares into a blind trust. It's actually a pretty simple rule to get around, because all shares get transferred back at the end of the season.
