Chelsea vs Wolves (PL) Mon 20th January 25 20:00 GMT

I didn't know how that 2nd half was going to go, so I'm glad it went positively. They didn't trouble us much at all in the 2nd half. Chalobah was brilliant. I think James played well, too. I know Maresca prefers Reece to stay back more, which is annoying because in his time under Tuchel he would get forward, create chances and add goals. I'd like to see that more from Reece if he stays fit. Caicedo was Caicedo. Tosin performed decently, too. Sanchez added a little extra something when he came on, rather than Neto bombing down the wing leading to nothingness.

Big relief to get 3 points after a winless month in the PL.

We look foolish for having loaned Chalobah out in the first place. At least he's back now.

Good game considering our form and very happy with the win.

Trevoh clear MOTM and his performance has made me very happy a Cobham boy is back with us and very sad he will likely still be offloaded in summer for PSR. We played great again in the first half but couldn't create very clear chances and struggled with the final ball. Very worrying signs from Jackson who looks like the worst of himself from last season, and from Noni who just couldn't finish any of his dribbles with a good outcome.

Sanchez... you can't claim to be Chelsea's No1 when you keep making these mistakes, as good as your shot stopping is. I'm getting close to giving up on him and I'd certainly like to see Jorgensen given a stint to see what he's made of.

City next week will be a big test but I'm feeling optimistic, we have a win and the players will raise their level for a big game. Come on the Blues!

3 points is great, but thought we were average with some very average performances from some. Trevoh has shown his class, and his worthiness.

KTBFFH
Defensively we are still a shambles, defenders all got turned to easily and rolled over only poor Wolves finishing save us...Haaland will have a field day next week......sadly.

He says that now, but at the start of the season he was singing a different tune. He was saying Chalobah was behind all of our current CB's and even Acheampong. It was his way of telling Chalobah that he needs to leave. Like I said the other day, the guy is a yes man, he will do as he is told.
100%, here is his actual quote from an interview in July's pre-season:

"First of all, from my point of view, it's always sad to leave players out," he told reporters. "That can be out of a pre-season, or can be out of the squad or out of the first eleven because in the end they all work for the same target, that is to be part of the same team.

"The Trevoh situation for me is quite clear, we have Axel [Disasi] there, we have Tosin [Adarabioyo] there, we have Wesley [Fofana] who in these two weeks has worked very good and is finally back, we have some very young profiles like Josh Acheampong who is doing fantastic.

"It's a sad decision but we have to take the decision."

If Maresca seriously thinks Disasi or Badiashile are better then Chalobah then he needs to get an eye test

To say he didnt fit his system is LIES, the only reason he was left out, was because he was homegrown and would have brought in clear profit

Performance as a team was inline with recent weeks, we’re just fortunate that this season Wolves are abysmal.

Chalobah has returned and is our best CB, James never misses a beat he’s truly World Class just needs his game/training time managing, maybe similar to how Ledley King used to for Spurs?

Sanchez for every quality save has absolute braindead moments that just can’t be allowed as a GK.

Jacksons form and overall effect on the game has dropped off a cliff, if he’s not even scoring anymore why is he in the team?

I’ll take this opportunity just to state how dislikable Madueke is. Sulks around the pitch, continually makes the wrong decisions and then has the gall to steal one off Trev on his return to the Bridge. Can’t stand the kid.

Agree with all of that although I think a bit harsh on Madueke.

I did mention similar in the Madueke thread that he is very hit and miss and his attitude at times isn't great. But he is still only 22 and when he's interviewed he comes across as a decent lad. Bit too laid back and not enough urgency about him but still arguably our most dangerous wide player. And I think he had to nick that goal off Trev, just to make sure - he couldn't be 100% certain there wasn't a defender coming from behind to try and clear.

I have more of a dislike of Sanchez and Jackson. Both wind me up. Sanchez with his constant mistakes EVERY game and then he has that blank look on his face. And Jackson for running about a lot but causing the opposition defence no issues at all yet still staying on the pitch for 90+ minutes. How? Why?

I don't go into that basic media narrative. Nothing foolish in it to call him back. Ask Chalobah how he feels and you have your answer.

As I said before most of our managers have sidelined him. I also think Disasi got the nod over him because Pochettino played Disasi although he had to.

Chalobah also could have helped with our FFP issues.

Don't think about the feelings of a clearly happy millionaire footballer too much. Trev's fine.

Eh ?

Last season Trev was injured for most of it, but once he was fit he played every game. Tuchel thought he was great as well. I'd be amazed if Trev isn't in TT's first England squad.

And somehow still most of the managers have thought (for some reason) we need to bring in someone else. Injuries or not. I also understand luck has to do with it in some cases.

Maybe due all of these events Trev's better for it and can sideline who ever is in front of him. Would love to see it. Fofana and Colwill partnership for me is the most natural one. Fofana sadly is injured all the time.

Badiashile for me still is a player we need to see more of. He needs that 10 game period where he plays all the time. He is deceptively quick and can make those forward (line piercing) passes. Every time he has played after a long layoff he's looked awful and made a big mistake in a game.

I am sure if he went to a lower level side in England he'd be their best center back after 10 games and 3 horror mistakes. We don't tolerate that.

Blimey, I'm glad you're not our Manager. If we played Badiashille for 10 games on the trot (especially with Sanchez behind him), we'd be back down the table looking at those  relegation spaces!
