Can anyone tell me exactly why Terry is apparently not going to be selected?

I don't get this either. Apparently it's because of his form but other than the Liverpool game last week he has been in a fantastic run of form. If it's because of the impending court case could The FA or Hodgson not come out and actually say that. For me the centre backs should be JT and Cahill. When they have actually been on the pitch together this season they have looked comfortable along side each other. They've only played together 5 times against Stoke, Spuds, Fulham, Arsenal & Barcelona but have only conceded 1 goal (Fulham).

Paul Scholes has been great since his return. Gerrard hasen't impressed much this season. Scholes and Lampard could make up the midfield possibly

Really depends on what formation Woy is going for. He is a 4-4-2 man so thats my best guess.

As it has been well documetned the Lampard/Gerrard partnership just does not work (even though on paper it would be the best CM partnership we have had as an England team (and could have been Chelsea history if it wasnt for those scummy scousers)). If Woy chooses Gerrard ahead of Lampard I still think the latter deserves to be part of the squad and will be bitterly disappointed if super Frank is not (at the very least) part of the squad.

Can anyone name an english CM who has done better this year?
I think it's because they are both attack minded players and if both going up frequently, it often leaves us weak at the back, but if England played a 4-3-3 with Parker as the anchor man, then Lamps and Gewward can have more licence to both go forward. Gewward feeding Wooney and Lamps feeding the wingers and then run from deep?

It will be the same sh*t as every tournament, lets face it England are sh*t and we'll have more success at the Olympics so save your support until then!

Maybe if he wasn't such a drama queen over the last year, winding up the sh*t, it might have done his international career a few favours.

First thing Hodgson has done right!

I heard he is trying to say he got dropped because the JT and Anton row. Not because he's been sh*t and injured for the past few years. Tosser

He's far from his peak. He was bamboozled too many times this year: the 6-1 loss vs. Man City, 3-0 loss at Newcastle, the 4-4 draw to Everton. That wouldn't have happened back in '05-'08 but time has taken its toll and while still good, he's no longer great. Terry's just a much better defender at the moment.

He has to face it, he's past it. Anyway, the best pairing for England in the central defence at the moment is JT and Cahill. They already have a good understanding, which will be invaluable for Hodgson as he has precius little time to prepare the team. I'm not sure Rio forced to sit on the bench would be a good dressing room influence.

Really? Oh how wonderful! One less incomprehensible interview after a match.

I can see the backlash on JT now, this is Rio just trying to wind it up further. Trust me the united loving media are going to love this and will now really lay it into JT and Hodgson.

Rio admit it mate you have had a off season, you are suppose to earn your call up to the England team and I am afraid I can name a whole host of centre backs who have had better seasons than you.

Just as a side from the Rio/England/JT stuff I heard on Talksport this morning that Micah Richards is not gonig to be picked, if this is true then that is ridiculous especially if that donkey Glen Johnson gets the nod over him then it is a joke.

:825: Best news of the day.Cant stand the duck lipped cun*, maybe he'll start throwing the race card at Roy.

The media will naturally blame this on Terry but you can't take someone who you wouldn't expect to cope playing 4 or 5 games in 2 weeks.

Hopefully, unlike Capello, Hodgeson won't try to play a high defensive line against fast counter-attacking teams...

They have already started. Henry Winter seems to be the worst. Loves Rio, hates JT. Says that picking JT will cause a rift in the squad and that everyone loves and respects Rio. I call bullsh*t. I don't think the players give a toss. It's not like Rio has even been playing for England regularly for quite some time.

Rio Ferdinand is an over-rated piece of sh*t, he's never been as good as has been made out. On top of that, he's an obnoxious, nauseating c*nt - easy decision for Hodgson, really.

A 33 year old who has played twice for England in the last three years, and as BB said, " an over-rated piece of sh*t, he's never been as good as has been made out. On top of that, he's an obnoxious, nauseating c*nt"

On a footballing level - unquestionably the correct decision. Ferdinand has been patchy all season; for all the criticism of being 'past it' aimed at JT (pretty much uniquely because of the Arsenal game), Ferdinand is far more guilty of it.

On a personality level - whatever, the man's an odious prick who seems to think that posting sanctimonious, ignorant bo**ocks on a social networking site for semi-literate morons is PR mastery on the level of Ferguson.
