One man's opinion on a piss poor radio show is hardly being declared a better player though is it.

I'm fairly sure the majority of people would back Pirlo to have a better World Cup than Gerrard. 

Pirlo is just majestic in midfield, a player who somehow improved with age like a fine wine and he has an impressive beard too.

Gerrard slips over and has a big nose. 

 
My level of dislike for half our squad has finally been overshadowed by my excitement and patriotism, I can go on hating Gerrard after the WC but for the next month or so I want to believe we can actually have a good run at this.

Pirlo is a magician, a genius, an architect, he has reinvented what it means to be a deep-lying playmaker, hell a lot of people even refer to it as 'the Pirlo role'!

Gerrard is just some ill-disciplined dumpkiss with an armband who is incapable of playing a five-yard pass. They are not even in the same class; Gerrard is closer to Charlie Adam than he is to Pirlo.

Oh ffs, Gerrard has never done anything for England at a major tournament apart from give the ball away...has always got away with it cos lamps has been bizarrely blamed for it - well there are no excuses this time with lamps on the bench

If they say an England legend as in been a great English player then fine but they can't say he is for the national team.

There was an article in Eurosport website with a topic: Who is better Gerrard or Pirlo? Can't find it now..the idiot who wrote that must have taken it down. Gerrard shouldn't be even mentioned in a same sentence with the maestro. Pirlo moved to Juve and they've won 3 scudetto's in the 4 years he's been there...
