No you’re not the only one.Is it just me that is still nervous about his hamstring
Yes. Any time a player gets injured these days, I'm worried about their recovery. PTSD from a few years ago when everybody was getting injured and never returning without breaking down again. Is it just me that is still nervous about his hamstring
Getting some uncomfortable Michael Owen vibes. Hopefully it is an isolated situation as part of growing and it doesn't now set in like it dogged Owen during his careerYes. I still think we made Estevao bulk up too quickly. Hamstring and similar injuries are more common when players are forced to gain muscle quickly.
Without a doubt, lots of awesome & amazing news!!!Nice to see the kid back at Cobham.

It got nothing to do with bulk up. He was not ready for pl. He got hammy issue in training, he got hammy issue the moment he was given back to back games. All of these are normal stuff.Yes. You can't know that. One of the most common injuries with quick muscle growth is muscle tears. Why would he get a hamstring injury just because he played 2 games back to back? You think it's weird for a player at 18 years of age to play 2 games in a row?It got nothing to do with bulk up. He was not ready for pl. Have you not realised that Bob is an all knowing oracle at this point? You can't know that. One of the most common injuries with quick muscle growth is muscle tears. No. He's always been lauded as a 10 more than a winger. There's plenty of minutes to share in that role behind the striker. Not to dampen the feel good factor on here at the moment but just a quick look at how Xabi is setting us up and does anyone else get the feeling Stevie could be the biggest loser of all this?
He’s never going to be ‘wingback’ he’s a solely attacking player and with Palmer & Rogers working in tandem so well and the lack of European football.
I just can’t see where his opportunity to get a run of games in his best position is going to come from?
No player is bigger than the club etc but I do like the kid, he’s exciting and has the right attitude but maybe being here is just going to hamper any of his development?
The new Fat Ronaldo?Hope he can get back to what we saw when he first joined us and at least be a really good impact sub.
The "bulk-up" talked about earlier in the thread does concern me a little. When he came on the other night he looked massive and I know he had the lay-off and is rusty, but he looked really out of sorts. Keep him off the burgers and chips...............!!
Don’t think we are the right club, now compounded with the formation. No way Brazil’s wonderkid sits permanently on the bench. He will be following Santos out of the door next summer. The new Fat Ronaldo?
Got to admit, my initial optimism that we'd signed someone truly special has waned quite a bit. Not writing him off, but my expectations have dropped massively and my hopes are a bit dented too.
Completely agree this could be good for him. Let JPMorgan steal the headlights and pressure, whilst he can develop in the background. He will play a lot of minutes, I'm not really worried about that. The worst kind of environment for him is what he had last season, where he almost became our only hope of actually making something happenI sort of feel that, at his age, this might be good for him. Palmer and Rodgers playing every PL game is unrealistic, there will be injuries/illnesses at some point, and this gives him the chance to really graft and gel with the team, learn the tactical side of the game and mature a bit as a player without being thrust into the spotlight.
Last season there was so much expectation on him and that isn't always good for a youngster. Let's see how he develops coming on in the last 30-20 mns, playing cup games and starting the odd PL. Might be good for him.
