It's quite clear than PES lost it's title for best football game a couple of years back you just have to look at the sales, im just stating a fact (in a fat spanish waiter tone of voice)
It was when things moved over to the now current generation of consoles. PES didn't change the game engine enough, and FIFA redesigned it from scratch, and PES have been playing catch up ever since.

Gem, on the penalties, try aiming after pressing shoot, you won't get it right in the corner, but it gets it enough to one side for it to get in... unless the keeper is diving that way.

It happened about 2-3 years ago. I used to play Pro Evo a lot with my mates(I played a lot of FIFA before that) and I remember Fifa was terrible for early half of '00s, but a few years ago FIFA just leapfrogged Pro Evo in just about every department and haven't looked back. In 2005 I wouldn't have thought it would happen so quickly, but at the moment Pro Evo is desperately trying to catch up.

Thats like saying Lady Gaga is better then Talib Kweli because she´s selling more ...

PES hasnt lost anything.. all the magazine´s dont lie. Havent read a comparison of PES and FIFA that FIFA won. (on PC that is)

I don't think anyone is referring to the PC versions G-B, more 360 and PS3.

I used to always be a PES fan, it was much better than FIFA. But in the past few years the whole thing has changed around, the last 3 or 4 PES games have been poor at best, and 2 of them were utter tripe.

PES has lost it big time on the gaming consoles and it's hard to see how it could be so different on PC, although I'll take your word for it. I've yet to read a console game review which says PES is better this year.

Fifa 11 on the PC is basically Fifa 10 with updated kits/teams they didn't change the gameplay for the PC version. It's a totally different game on the console so i imagine that is why PES beat Fifa on the review side of things regarding the PC version but when it comes to consoles i believe IGN only gave PES a respectable rating simply because IGN sponsors PES this year.

I dont want to sound like one of those Fifa fan boys but like dkw said PES has fallen behind greatly where Fifa has improved massivley.

It's cool, but I don't have much motivation to play it over Starcraft unless I have friends over.

Hoping for a patch soon from EA, should be out soon it's a joke at the moment playing pro clubs online with your mates, takes ages to find a game sometimes from the lobby and once you actually get a game and start playing almost every time one of us get a 3 seconds delay on our actions, grr!

On the other hand I've got no problems with penalties in this game and my free-kicks are getting better and better, almost scoring every game from 20-25 yrds!

A complaint I've had with Fifa is that one part of it has gotten too realistic - player growth. If I start a manager mode with Chelsea, you have to play the youngsters to get them any chance of improving their overall rating. I know, I know, that is realistic and it makes sense, but I kind of like the way it used to be where I could loan out some of our youngsters and they came back several points higher. I'd like to have fun with Drogba, Lamps, and others for a couple years, then when they retire I have youngsters who have matured into 22-23 year olds in the low 80s, not still at 73.

By the way, I am pretty sure in Fifa 08, Kalou was the best prospect in the game. He got up to like a 97 real quick, I would average around 60 goals a year with him.....maybe that's why he's always let me down. :laugh2:

PES has that feature since quite some time... and I think its good. Gets boring for me to play with already fully developed players like Lamps,Drogba, etc

Speaking of Kalou, I have recently started playing Fifa Manager 08 again. I'm more of a football manager man myself, but have bought two fifa titles before, and decided it would be fun to do something different.

Kalou at the moment is 26 years old in my game, and is worth, no less than 75,000,000 pounds. The most valuable player in the world. Essien is worth about 70mil himself, and well most the team have astronomical values. Hell, even Kasper Schmeichel is worth 25mil as a backup to Cech.

Interesetingly, Aston Villa signed Cristiano Ronaldo, followed by Fabregas, followed by Gerrard...and are still finishing mid-table.

Anyway, the point being, Kalou being the best prospect in a game, is soooo 2008 lol

I haven't played the game yet but i hope the manager mode is more realistic, especially the transfers. Usually i end up getting bored after a couple of seasons after getting Messi, Aguero and Pato and all of them getting to 99 :indifferent0018:

Would be much more interesting having to play with a Kakuta at 70 something and watching him develop. Thats just my opinion though

I guess I miss the 09 system where you got experience points and could modify each player's attributes in a different way. My previous complaint is just based on using Kakuta, Stoch, and others as subs quite frequently in my seasons and not seeing much growth out of them, or at least as much growth as I would have liked.

I stopped bothering with the online play. Everytime you go a couple of goals up against someone they quit. It got very annoying

I`ll take your word for it, never been a couple of goals up... :laugh2:

I've been getting my ass handed to me. I'm 5-7-1 online so far. Played some thrilling matches though.

I'm always up for a game if anyone is interested....bigizz333 on the 360

i was annoyed to see ivanovic rated at (i think) 79,which as wel all know i wrong, he was voted the best right back in the premier league last year, surely an 82 rating would have been fairer?
If you want you could fix Ivanovic's overall just a little bit. Go to edit players and go to chelsea then click ivanovic and fix his defending or whatever.

I fixed it he is a 84 at Right-Back & 86 at Centre Back

Big time Fifa player. I think the best feature is the ability to edit formations. I love being able to position each player and actually change their position. Plus, you can edit their workrate and specific runs they make. I took the regular 4-3-3 formation and spread it out. I also made a 4-2-4 formation. Its really a 4-2-1-4, but I made the "1" a CF so it is labelled as a 4-2-4. With both Essien and Mikel as the "2" CDM we still defend well.

Back in 2006, you could change player overall ratings, which I often did to better reflect how players were doing (Drogba and Makelele were criminally underrated). In more recent versions though, any edits you make to a player means no announcer will no longer say their names when playing the game. While this isn't the biggest deal in the world, I do enjoy the authenticity added by hearing the player names. Anyone know if this issue still exists in the newest version?
