Andres Iniesta on Jesus Navas:

"He's going to cause the defences in the Premier League a real problem when he plays for City, his feet are so quick, that it becomes nearly impossible to stop him without fouling him. Jesus has so much speed, and his feet are so quick, that it becomes nearly impossible to stop him without fouling him. The only player that I can compare him with that is already playing in England is Gareth Bale."

I'm not gonna argue with the best Midfielder of his generation.
I know stats don't mean everything but the guy rarely assists and never scores. Bale is in a totally different league than Navas, as are many players in the prem. Yes he can run, but he doesn't have much end product. I expect him to have a decent start but i have a feeling teams will work him out, pace isn't everything.

Now Mata's off for Navas. Why wasn't it Pedro off who's been bad in the game IMO??
Because he plays for Barcelona probably. Do they ever sub the Barcelona players ? all of them were awful tonight. There were worse performers than Mata for Spain tonight. Mata created their only real chance of the game, i don't know why Shearer made out he was one of the worst at half time.

Oh and the BBC really need to fire Mark Lawrenson, the guy is a complete tit. He's not funny, he's just a sarcastic asshole.

I can finally say now that Neymar is a great player, he has been excellent at times in this tournament, but like many many great players, he is completely unlikeable. What is it with the best players being so unlikeable ?

One of the best games of football i'd seen in a long time up until Pique got sent off and Brazil just toyed with them.

First thing i'll say is that I and a lot of other people may have been wrong about Neymar, today he went out against one of the top teams ever and ripped them to shreds, if Barca can figure out how to utilize him with Messi and Iniesta, we're all f**ked. He made Arbeloa look so bad that he got pulled at half time, then Dave couldn't do any better (although to his credit, he did take the ball off Neymar's toe as he went to shoot once).

Luiz was amazing both defensively and with his distribution, Brazil on the whole got right in their faces and while Iniesta had his moments, he nor Mata nor Xavi could ever really get into the game.

It's going to be an amazing world cup.

No team will ever be unbeatable no matter what players they have. Don't forget we have some pretty damn fine players ourselves and i fully expect Hazard and Oscar to get to the levels of the greatest players in the world.

I wasn't surprised when Mata came off, he wasn't the worst player though, not hardly, but I don't think he did any better than Pedro.

That was the first time Casillas has ever conceded in a final he has appeared in for club & country.

The difference between Brazil and Spain last night was much like the gulf of class between Vialli and the other drunken idiot pundits he was sadly forced to share a studio with.
