Funny happenings at the Bridge

My memory was jogged by a post in this forum last week when I recalled a game at the Bridge where we were playing a team from up North, possibly Liverpool. It was in the late 80's and the first game of the season. This all sounds a bit vague but the funny thing was there was a selection of flash cars of the day driving around the dogtrack by the Shed. It was massively funny because a large section of the crowd, if not the whole stadium, started singing "Loads and Loadsa Money! Loads and Loadsa money!". It was particularly funny because of the poor old Northerners in the away end.

Does any body else remember this or any other funny chants or occurrences during their visits to the Bridge.

One that always sticks in my mind is giving it to Bradford "You're only here for the Chelsea" when we were 2-0 up at half time, and then going on to lose 4-2. Wasn't funny at the time but can look back and appreciate it.

Another is a few years back we played Copenhagen in the Champions League and they were singing to us in English "You're s**t and you know you are" to which we sang back "Why don't you speak f***ing danish"

In the 15/16 season there was a few chants of "We are staying up" which was quite funny.

The pre season game in 2007 between Rangers and Chelsea saw a banner held by some Rangers supporters saying: ' Jose. Thanks for Seville. 21st May 2003. Porto 3-2 Celtic.'

It referred to the 2003 UEFA Cup Final win by Porto under Jose !

Back in the eighties and nineties, Coventry City's goalie was Steve Ogrizovic. When he was in the goal at the Shed End, the chant was: "There's only one Freddy Krueger". 

In the late eighties or early nineties I was standing in the Shed - I can't remember who we played. Someone standing near to me shouted out to one of our players with the order to break the leg of one of the opposition. A kid who was standing near by then shouted out: "Break every bone in his body." Charming.

which record company person  thought it would be a good idea for Boy George to film part of one of his video's at the Bridge in the early- mid 80's 

"oh yah their a really great tolerant and understanding crowd!" 

yeah right !

I remember Ogrizovic but not the Freddy Kruger comment, the one I was remember was much more basic. It was just 'ugly' chanted in the same way that 'Chelsea' was chanted.

Another thing I recall was an overweight ball boy, he happened to turn around and look up at the Shed as a chant of 'Who eat all the pies?',  started up. In fact, he looked up as the punch-line landed with thousands of arms pointing at him as the crowd chanted. 'you did, you did.'

It took him a second or two to understand the song and then he stepped back without looking and fell over and then scampered off towards the front of the West Side.

Fifth Round of the Cup at Goodison early 2000’s. A real gobsh*te sitting with his oriental partner giving in the Cockney W.....s bit.

My mate “ at least I didn’t have to fly to f.....g  Thailand to get meself a bird”

He went a bit quiet after that
