That's five from how many thoughExperience is overrated in modern day football, the next generation of stars are starting early. Gavi, Pedri, Bellingham, Moukoko, Camavinga are all kids.

And Gavi and Pedri play with one of the best DM/DLPs of all time. Camavinga plays in an experienced filled Madrid team. That's five from how many though
He isn’t a random youngster though, came into the Arsenal first team along with Saka, Martinelli & Rowe, and only left because he felt his path was blocked by Saka. Coming here was probably the worst move he could have made, same applies to Chukwuemeka. It isn’t the City cameo that is the problem, it is what happens after that cameo. He has never been seen in the first team after that, same applies to Fofana & the 45min cameo. The right approach to developing youth talent is the Brighton or the Klopp approach to Elliott & Bajcetic, the latter who just only turned 18yrs but has racked up over 500mins in the league this season.I bet the City cameos didn't help. Another reason we shouldn't throw random youngsters in the lions den because they "can't be worse".
Enciso (18yrs) at Brighton, Rico Lewis (18yrs) at City, Cherki (18yrs) at Lyon, Lukeba (19yrs) at Lyon, Scalivin (18yrs) at Atalanta, Balde (19yrs) at Barca, Wirtz (18yrs) at Leverkusen, Guler (17yrs) at Fenerbahce, Gnonto at Leeds, Garnacho at Utd, and the 2 players we have been linked to Lavia at Southampton, and Ferguson at Brighton are also both 18yrs.That's five from how many though
But again considering every player you have mentioned there has come from at least one youth team where a further dozen players that would have fallen by the wayside. I am not saying that there isn't young talent about, and there are some very promising prospects, but i think it just needs to be taken in context. Just taking our club for example, all of the young players that we are saying need to be given a shout are players that we have brought in. Meanwhile we have had a youth team every year graduating into seniors and not findign their way through. He isn’t a random youngster though, came into the Arsenal first team along with Saka, Martinelli & Rowe, and only left because he felt his path was blocked by Saka. There is a conveyor belt of kids looking to start at top European kids, and if their parent clubs won’t give them the break some other top team would take the chance.
good move for him if he is first choice[Fabrizio Romano] EXCL: Belgian side KAS Eupen closing in on deal to sign Gabriel Slonina on loan from Chelsea, here we go soon Understand agreement on the verge of being reached on one-year loan valid until June 2024. Slonina will play regularly and he’s key part of #CFC future plans.
There's not a chance at all he's not first choice. No way we let him go to sit on the bench.good move for him if he is first choice
I think he is too good for Eupen to be honestThere's not a chance at all he's not first choice. No way we let him go to sit on the bench.
Agreed. Was really looking forward to seeing him perform as have heard such good things about Slonina but he didn't really have any saves to make. As you say though - he looked very nervy with the ball at his feet and if that were in PL matches, it would give me the sort of jitters I had every time Mendy had the ball at his feet!Definitely needs a loan based on last nights showing. Only a young lad and plenty of time to improve before he's expected to challenge for a spot at Chelsea but looked incredibly nervous with the ball at the back.
I thought he actually settled in a bit later on, didnt seem to be as nervous with the ball at least. Shame we didnt really get to see any decent shots on target for him.Agreed. All the teams in the Championship already have a Chelsea loanee goalkeeper.Hang on. He was playing in MLS and in the first division of Belguim, we have spent 10m on him and the best offer he got was to play in league one which is a lower standard that was he is used to?
I know for keepers just playing is more important but would have thought he could have got a team in the championship.
