I should talk. There was a time I'd wear a tartan scarf to the Bridge. I felt that big when some clever sod asked me if I was a Bay City Rollers fan!

Colin Daniels definitely rings a bell. I was never a punk myself, or a ted - but I did have a really nice pair of white brothel creepers bought from the shop in Kings Road that Malcolm McLaren later took over.

I can't remember why I started wearing the tartan scarf. Probably one of those things that seemed a good idea at the time. Could have had something to do with the Glasgow Rangers link though. Back then (early '70s) I used to wear Rangers badges to football.

Same here mate  ended up wearing one of them silky rangers scarves even tho i had no interst in scottish football  but had to be  rangers as i'm a good old Cof E

I used to wear a tartan scarf with a Rangers badge sewn on in the early 70's, still got it somewhere! Also had a silk Gers scarf to go with my Chelsea ones, not sure what happened to those - think I chucked 'em out when the colours faded to a rancid purple.

I know a fella at CFC, CD, only to say hello too rather than being mates, he used to have a boozer near Wembley stadium, The Post Office, must be the same fella, not sure on the punk thing as i was born in 70 so only a kid when the scene kicked off, i had a bay city rollers scarf though as that was all the rage at the time.

The Spiders Web? Scamps? Boobs? Croydon Suite/Cinatra's? Purley Orchid?

Knew Colin, used to have a pub at Parsons green and wandsworth and used to run coaches to games in the early 80's,had a girlfriend called Mel,Think i know the gerry your talking about Gerry kelly, was still going up to a couple of years ago.Thank god i wasnt the only one wearing tarten, the stick i took over chelsea for wearing some trousers with a tarten stripe down the side was unreal, only worn them the once.Took my first kicking with a silk scarf tied round my wrist when west ham took the shed and i got pulled down by it,sure it was 1974/75 as i was still young.

I remember in the very late 60s i had a really nice blue n white chelsea woolen scarf i proudly wore......I got a badge that i really liked from somewhere that you ironed on.....I was well pleased with the union of both.........I remember having to change trains at seven sisters to get home after a match back to walthamstow.....I remember a tottenham fan coming up to me on the platform and telling me to keep quiet n give me your scarf....I was upset as hell to give my scarf to him but was scared so did....He probably told his mates he had turned over a chelsea bloke instead of a 13 or 14 year old.......TOTTENHAM c**t
