Higuain

the more I watch Higuain... he reminds me a little of Lampard in a way, that he's so aware of what's around him, and so decisive. The biggest positive to this signing the more I watch I think is, I can see Higuain and CHO really linking up well.

It's a bit of a win win deal IMO short term deal, if it doesn't work out no worry of being lumbered with a big transfer fee and his wages if it does great.

I'm quietly confident Higuain will do very well here, knows Sarri and his system well and a prolific goal scorer wherever he's been and he won't just lose his eye for goal just because he's in his 30s.

That rhetoric is made by 12 year old's. I'm not a fan of Higuain but I find it ridiculous that the blind Messi fans are openly blaming him for Messi not being capable of doing anything meaningful with his national team. I'm so
How come he never ever scored in the World Cup after the group stage and he played since 2006, that's 4 World Cups mate, 4 World Cups and Messi never ever scored a single goal after the group stage. How come nobody blamed him when he missed the penalty in Copa America? f**k Messi's fans for always blaming someone else when their idol failed.
Messi is by far and away the best player on the Argentinian National Team.

Without Messi in the line-up Argentina earned just 7 points from 8 games – an average that would have left the 2-time World Champions 8th out of 10 countries in CONMEBOL qualifying over 18 games.

When Messi started, Argentina took 21 points from 10 games - an average that would have placed La Albiceleste comfortably in second place just Brazil 3 points behind Brazil.

There's a youtube highlights video on the Willian thread. If you've never seen Willian play in your lifetime and only watch that clip, you'd think he was the best attacking talent on the planet bar Messi and Ronaldo.
Except Higuain isn't some random player. His goal record is elite. He's a proven goalscorer.

So if they depend so much on him, why is Higuain to be blamed for missing one chance when Messi was invisible that whole final game? Seems that no matter what he does he is never to be blamed.
Or if they depend on him so much why is it totally fine that he misses a penalty in the Copa America final?
Don't tell me that Argentina has a bad team now and that Messi plays with below average players in Argentina, from 2006 when he was still young up to 2018 Argentina has had great players, but I guess, Messi could only do well with the Spanish generation that won the World Cup and Euro Cup, maybe he should have taken the Spanish citizenship?

I saw Di Maria at the World Cup in Brazil and Russia, by far the most influential player in big games for Argentina.

I was against the signing of Higuain, but if Sarri wants him I back that move and whatever happens, happens.

#metoo - I will join you & hope Higuain does well for The Royal Blues, but I do a few Argentino fans that are big Higuain Supporters. Saying Higuain around them is like a curse word.

People think you gotta perform in PL to prove your worth. A 35 year old Ibrahimovic came and scored 17 goals when people said he couldn't. Higuain has done it in Spain and Italy, two of the best tactical and technical leagues in Europe. There's no guarantee he'll do it in England, but I'd be confident to say he will. He is certainly not past it yet at the age of 31!

The former Black-and-White striker, had also words of praise for his former Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri who is now in charge of Chelsea: “He’s the best manager I had in my career. I showed all my potential with him. I think he is similar to Gattuso: they both want to win and that’s something I really love. We are improving, I think we are now creating more goal chances because Gattuso has found the right tactical balance.”

Higuain talking about Sarri back in October. A match made in heaven.

“Word is Higuain medical in the morning, register him by 12pm to be available for Saturday”.

Reported by Simon Phillips. Would be great to have him as an option for Saturday

same thing Pedulla wrote - @dansubrosa said it Higuain would get his medical today

No credible source, just a guess.

I predicted that he’d have his medical tonight, as some reports are saying he’s flying to London tonight.

Then tomorrow morning, get all the media sh*t done and announcement.

Saw this lovely statistic

Since January 2007 these are the top scorers in the top five European Leagues:
Lionel Messi 390
Cristiano Ronaldo 378
Edinson Cavani 239
Zlatan Ibrahimovic 237
Gonzalo Higuaín 224

Only 4 players have scored more than Higuain in the last 12 years, across the main 5 leagues.

We’re finally getting an elite striker! Well, hopefully a third or half of his best anyway.

True but on his day he is that's why it's so frustrating, all my mates that support other clubs think he is Ace because they don't watch him week in week out

I remember watching the FA Cup Final w/ a manure fan & he foamed at the mouth with the prospect that Slick Wily could be a dirty red manc - unfortunately for him that didn't happen
