Tonight, for me, is the final straw.

I've been Chelsea for 10 or so years now, so believe me I am grateful for the good times we've had as of late, but tonight I have finally had enough.

To be honest, right now, and for the last few months, I have simply not enjoyed watching us play, and tonight is sadly typical of the sort of performance we've put in time and time again.

No passion, no pace and no attacking threat whatsoever (again).

All this I could handle when we were defensively sound, and rarely lost a one-nil lead, but we've even lost this as of late. I don't care that tonight we've had a makeshift defense, we are the champions of the f*cking country, and should not be bossed by a fat english workhorse and an average team on a lucky run, no matter who is in the defense, mid or attack.

Jose has bought himself a huge amount of time with his back to back titles, and I hate to criticise the man, but his selections of late and squad for this season full stop have been..well...baffling. We are simply not good enough or strong enough in the right areas, and ultimately the buck has to stop with Jose, if we are to believe, as I do, that he is in charge of the team, with no interferance from Kenyon and Co. Strikers -not enough personell or quality, defense-we sold two and bought one. IF we play youth to combat this, fair enough, but while the Manciennes and Sinclairs of this world are on loan or on the bench until the last few minutes, we have midfielders playing out of position left right, front, back and centre.

Play with some passion, play like you give a sh*t to be wearing the shirt, and play like a team for christ's sake, or we can say goodbye to all silverware this season, and I genuinely mean that.

Frustrated of South London.

It has got to the stage now where watching Chelsea is a painfull experience devoid of entertainment... but I will go on watching and endure the pain.

For me the reason this dip in form is so hard to take is because I know what quality players we have got and to see them not perform is just irritating.

Tim, many of us feel the same mate, but you have to stick with it believe me.

I am fed up with the dire football we are playing. But lets face it, if tonight's starting 11, or any other recent game's starting 11, had contained Cech, JT, Carvo, Lamps, Joey, Robben & Drogba it would be totally different.

Yes, with the resourses we have we should have MUCH better cover and a lot of those that have played in the last few games just aren't up to the task. I think with Ballack & Sheva now, every time I read a thread about them it is pretty much like The Kings Clothes. No one really wants to admit just how poor they look, but it's got to the point where you can't help but face facts.

But that's what being a supporter has always been about - especially for a historically inconsistent club like ours - you have to take the bad with the good.

Gald i'm not along in feeling like this (although I was pretty sure I wasn't

I agree Nibs we have to take the rough with the smooth-any Chelsea fan who's followed the club for over 3 years will know all too well how inconsistent we have been over the years.

However, since the money has come in, and we have become one of the tops teams in Europe, we have to accept that the bar has been well and truly raised, and rightly so. A win is now expected, due to Roman and our success in the last two seasons, and a loss is far more damaging, when you are chasing the CL and the Prem title, rather than looking to finish in the elusive top six and scrape into Europe.

I just wish we'd play with some f*cking class and passion, given the quality of the players on show, regardless of which lopsided team Jose picks.

Agreed, we are missing Joe, Arjen and JT so, so much right now, but we should not need our captain screaming at the players and charging up the pitch to get the team fired up and playing like they want to be champions again. I can't belive that Jose is not motivating the players properly, but the 'we've scored one so we'll probably win as you lot aren't good enough to really trouble us' attitude we've displayed time and time again does make me wonder.

Second rant over.

Goes without saying, this is not me giving up on Chelsea, that will simply never happen, but I guess when you have to put a postive spin on our abject form, Ballack's supposed unpopularity, our misfiring 30 million quid striker, and our bizarre tactics, and countless other (justified) criticisms from gleeful rival fans, well.....you have to vent sometimes.

But that's what being a supporter has always been about - especially for a historically inconsistent club like ours - you have to take the bad with the good.
Exactly. We've hardly lost a game for the past two and a half seasons, and even though we are playing sh*te at present we're still unbeaten in the last 12. So there's still some good to go with the bad.

Totally agree about our garbage football of late. The fact is, we have yet to hit any sort of form since we smashed Manure to win the title. Brilliant displays against Barca do not constitute form. Over the season we've just not discovered any real pattern, style or rhythm, and the new signings - Ballack, Sheva, Cole, Kalou, Boula and Mikel - have not hit the standards we should expect from them.

As Tim says, we've lost any attacking fluency we once had (and we've not exactly been famous for that under JM), at the same time as our phenomenal defence has deteriorated out of all recognition. Drogs and Essien have been brilliant, JT, Lamps, RC and Maka not far below their true level, but everyone else is way off the standards we need to sustain our place at the top of the pile.

If you have to explain this point to people Nibs, you're wasting your breath. They have no idea, not a clue about real support.

They are fair weather fans. Yes Tim, you included. Fair weather fans. Honestly, the visting Mancs and Scousers on here must be laughing their tits off at this, "I've had enough" thread.

The last ten or so years you say ? Well my friend every single one of those years have been a glory filled cavalcade compared with the many long and dark years that went before. Hoddle, Guillit, Vialli, Ranieri, Jose

?

Try watching a few years of Blanchflower, Shilletto, Hurst, Porterfield. In fact try watching ten years of that mate. Try spending your hard earned acker travelling around the country watching us get beat by the likes of Rotherham, Forest, Preston, Shrewsbury. Because that what's real football supporters do. Supporters like the many people who have followed this great club through really dire times.

So, to sum up, slag the quality of the football or the tatics if you must, but "I've had enough" ? Get a farking grip mate.

IMO it is harder to be a Chelsea Fan/Supporter nowadays than it was then.

Chelsea is the club that i gave my heart too in the relatively good years of 95/96/97. I was proud to be Chelsea and wore it on my sleeve.

I have been monitoring this forum religiously since early 2000 and have lost count at the number of times that the old-guard remind us that they are better supporters.

Im not defending Tim W, you are right he needs to get a grip.

But Geez I cant wait till im old so that I can Lord myself over the 'fair weather fans' cause they havent supprted Chelsea as long as I have.

I think all just is trying to say is that there was a time, not very long ago at all, when 2nd place in the league and still alive in all three cups was considered pretty good going.

Too right. And there was a time, not so long ago, when a draw away to Wycombe would have been a normal kinda result for us.

And Stinky 07, it's got fark all to do with lording it over anyone but it's got everything to do with having a bit of perspective.

Harder to be a Chelsea supporter nowadays !!!! :? Strewth.

In fairness to Tim I think what he is doing is slagging the football/tactics/passion etc - he makes it clear he has not 'had enough' of Chelsea - I think his thread title doesn't actually reflect the content of his post.

As for the idea that being a Chelsea fan is harder nowadays ..well I guess 'strewth' is one way of putting it Just but I think we both know that just isn't expressive enough! I may have to ask Bluebeard and to come up with a more appropriate response

Would anyone who seriously thinks this poor form wasn't inevitable at some point and that it will in fact continue forever into the future (or until we sack Mourinho) please raise your hand now and make yourself known.

Surely its obvious that no matter how much we spend in the transfer market there would be times we would be completely crap.

I have some arguments.

I believe every team has good and bad seasons. Thinking it`s our bad season, mention we are still fighting in all 4 competitions having serious squad problems. I mean long term injuries and new unsettled signings.

We will beat Wycombe and through to Final.

We will beat Notts Forest...

We will beat Porto and past to 1/4.

We will beat Wigan and weakeaned Liverpool.....

And then you will be allright. Your blue level will be increased to normal.

Believe me.....

Just, for someone who has been around on these forums for a while, i'm kinda surprised at your reply.

If you actually read my post, you'll see that, as Loz points out, I am not going anywhere, I am not giving up on the club, and I will continue to support them no matter what.

My rant, poorly titled though it may be, is regarding our form, or lack of it, so far this season. If you take umbrage over these points, then fair enough, you are obviously entitled to criticise if you feel we've been playing at the sort of level that we should expect from such a high quality team.

However, you're '10 years mate, i've been supporting chelsea blah blah blah, you're a fairweather fan' is redundant, and a bit childish to be honest. I fully acknowledge that those who followed Chelsea back in the 70s had it worse, but I wasn't born then, so not much I can do about that is there? Just because you are older and been through more, does not mean I am not entitled to vent, on a Chelsea forum for christ's sake, about our abject form of late-something I think most can agree on.

Those who were there back in the 70s or in my case the 80s will never forget how bad it was. Dale Jasper, Les Fridge, Oxford away, Save the Bridge, The Chelsea Collection etc

Basically, I think we have been spolit over the last decade. I will never take our current situation for granted however frustrating it may be.

I think with Ballack & Sheva now, every time I read a thread about them it is pretty much like The Kings Clothes. No one really wants to admit just how poor they look, but it's got to the point where you can't help but face facts.
Its like when 'The Second Coming' came out.

For so long i wanted to love it and pretended it was genius. And told everyone that they were missing the point and it was a bona fide classic.

But then i just had to face reality.

Hey - I liked it! However point taken - it wasn't a patch on the debut album and it is true that a lot of people were desperate for it to live up to expectations that they almost fooled themselved that it was better then it was.

C'mon Loz - its rank! Dont kid yourself. Self indulgent rubbish. From a truly masterful band too.

Back on subject. The more i think about last nights performance the more it annoys me. I dont care about the injuires, the suspension and the players out of position, and im appalled Jose has used these as excuses.

The players we sent out cost over 100 million, i doubt any of them earn less than 25k a week. I suspect Ballack has earned more all ready this week than the Wycombe team cost combined.

17 years ago in the very same stage of the same competition Chelsea had one of the most disapointing results in their history. Remember , we had gone 20 years without wining anything and suddenly here we were in a semi-final (yes, a semi-final!!) but more to the point against a team from a lower division. Two games later , a 5-1 aggregate score later and two outplayed matches later it was all over. We were sh*te. However at least the players tried. Last night, we were sh*te and i could name 5 or 6 who didnt break sweat. I find this unexcusable.

But have i had enough?

Have i f**k.

This is what being a Chelsea fan is all about. The good times and the 'bad times'.

And i can assure you all. these are not bad times.
