I guess you're right, but it depends on how Lampards looking to integrate the players I guess.I believe, though I might be wrong, that Werner isn't as strong as Tammy and wouldn't be able to play as the main target man in the middle but who knows...
Honestly I can imagine Tammy falling out of favor if Lampard uses Werner in the middle, I wouldn't like it as Tammy has shown a lot and I guess for me personally he's on that long term project list but what you say is very much a big possibility.
I only don't see us buying Sancho because I can see a potential unbalanced squad as many want to be in the starting lineup, Pulisic obviously wants to be a starter and Ziyech didn't come here to sit on the bench and he's in his best years. I think that whoever gets Sancho wins the transfer market whenever that happens, right now I just can't see how everyone would be happy if Sancho were to come with Werner at the same time, but I guess that shouldn't be my worry, after all Frankie should take care of that.
The imaginary lineup of Sancho-Werner-Ziyech and having Pulisic and Tammy at the ready could make us title contenders and Frankie would really feel the pressure to deliver as our attack would look really deadly. One thing is sure he wouldn't have the luxury to complain about missing a lot of chances as Sancho alone produces a whole lot of goals.
Funny you mention that. I think we should definitely be looking to offload some of our players to them if we can! Bats is already being linked to them and so are a couple of other players and we should most definitely take advantage of their arab money if we canBakayoko will probably end up at Newcastle![]()
Havertz would be excellent, but he's being linked to so many clubs atm I have no idea where he'll end up.I’d prefer Havertz tbh, think he is a generational talent. Sancho is way too expensive.
Sancho on paper can carry the whole attack;I listened to Chelsea podcast yesterday https://open.spotify.com/episode/4Mnn282ZyNUYM12fOQ4r2L?si=azv9hIpWQFmEMwOXcBSocQ and they reckon Sancho would better fill the void created by Pedro and/or Willian leaving than Havertz who is more versatile and can play multiple positions. Sancho would be a precise filler of a void and his output is so good we would automatically get more goals which is arguably our biggest problem. Losing games 1-2 instead of winning them 3-2 or 4-2. With our defending we need a lot of goals per game. Not saying we shouldn't improve our defending but we'd be fighting City for second place with better output from our attack.
Once Werner has joined officially, we will most likely only need maybe another 1 or 2 attacking players. If we could sign Sancho and Havertz (with Havertz playing centrally instead of a winger) then I really don't see the need for any attacking signings for a long time to come, we will be absolutely stacked with attacking talent.Sancho on paper can carry the whole attack;
17 goals and 16-17 assists this season in Bundesliga after 28 games(23 starts)
2 goals and 2 assists in CL after 8 games.
0 penalties.
And he's only 20 years old. He's pretty much worth whatever they are asking 100m, 120m...
I agree we should get one more, but there is no chance in a million years we’re signing both Havertz and Sancho - especially in the same window.Once Werner has joined officially, we will most likely only need maybe another 1 or 2 attacking players. What we do need more so now is defensive signings. A world class CB and LB and we're sorted there too.
Main thing we need to worry about from a financial perspective is just selling some of the deadwood we have and freeing up the wage bill.
Willian and Pedro almost definitely seem to be going out, and we can definitely sell a couple of others to recoup some funds.
Seems almost crazy to me that we can essentially sell Bakayoko and Bats (at the prices being touted) to essentially fund Havertz. Selling Morata to fund Werner!
Think im in love with Marina, ever since shes come in out transfer dealings have been great imo. Gone are the days where we sign subpar players for stupid prices

Personally I can see us signing one of Sancho or Havertz but as you said, very unlikely of signing both in same window.I agree we should get one more, but there is no chance in a million years we’re signing both Havertz and Sancho - especially in the same window.
It’s unlikely we’ll address every single position of need in the squad in one window IMO. I’d expect us to bring in another attacker and a LB. I don’t think there’s any world class CB’s on the market and we won’t pay silly money for Kouliably because he has zero sell on value at his age.
I don’t think Sancho will be staying put - unfortunately I think he is United bound which is frustrating!Personally I can see us signing one of Sancho or Havertz but as you said, very unlikely of signing both in same window.
If Sancho stays put at Dortmund for another year though, I definitely think we can get him next summer (based on how next season goes and if we need him)
We don't need to address every position. Our upfront and midfield is now stacked, RB is sorted with RJ and Azpi playing as backup. Only 2 positions that still needs addressing is CB and LB.
You are right about Koulibaly as I don't rate him as highly as others do, and he's already 29. I would much rather go for Skriniar who City are eyeing up, if we could poach that deal than thats sorted! LB we are being linked with a couple of cheaper-than-chilwell options in tagliafico and telles who I think are more than capable enough
If we do sign Havertz, we won't even have space in the squad for Sancho, but I'd still rather sign him than let him go Utd! Not sure what's going to happen at the moment, but hopefully he stays put for another year, or a team like Real Madrid come knocking with an offer he can't refuse. More than happy to miss out on Sancho (if we sign Havertz) as long as he doesn't go to a prem rival.I don’t think Sancho will be staying put - unfortunately I think he is United bound which is frustrating!
I agree re; Skriniar - if we’re going to recruit a CB. He would definitely be my choice at the moment!
I see a big clear out we have loads of surplus players that are average that we could replace, William and Pedro can’t really be sold I think their contracts are near enough up but that’s wages not being covered, to add to who you mentioned we have drinkwater and Barkley, and I can see us replacing a CB.We also have players we can sell this summer too Looks like Pasalic is going to Atalanta, Moses to Inter. PSG want Bakayako, Batshuayi can leave too. Then one of Alonso or Emerson may leave yet too.
Good luck getting Skriniar for under £80m, Inter is owned by a billionaire who has no reason to sell. They are making Barca pay Martinez’s release clause, so no way we are getting Skriniar under his release clause.Personally I can see us signing one of Sancho or Havertz but as you said, very unlikely of signing both in same window.

Inter Milan said that Skriniar is only going to be sold for fees over 70m? I think somewhere around 80-85m would be enough to get him here, maybe even throw in Emerson or Alonso as Inter were known to be interested in them.Good luck getting Skriniar for under £80m, Inter is owned by a billionaire who has no reason to sell. They are making Barca pay Martinez’s release clause, so no way we are getting Skriniar under his release clause.
There are some quality CBs we could pick up now on the cheap now due to the global pandemic; Demiriai from Juve, Zagadou from Dortmund, Ruben Dias from Benfica, & Pau Torres from Villarreal are all quality additions and would cost less than half what Inter would demand.
I agree,it's all still rumours, until the club announces Warner or anyone else it's just us supporters dreaming.I am less optimistic than most of you regarding the transfers. We get linked to big players every window.
But the last couple of years it were just rumours. I am probably just protecting myself so I do not get too much disappointed.
But apart from Ziyech, there is nothing more than rumours atm. Even Werner isn’t a done deal. So still a rumour.
Think the issue was playing Brandt as the frontman against a team sitting deep. He was still one of their better players though.Didn't do that much against Dusseldorf. Dire performance by Dortmund really. Struggling against a low block defence.
