Jorrel Hato *Official*

Should be playing LB, though.

Why did we bring Sarr back just to not even make the squad and play a LB at CB?
I’m not sure he’s either to be honest.

I really like him as a player and thought he was our best player by a mile against Utd. His best moments for us have been higher up the pitch and more central though. He can pick a pass, and is mobile. He would be a better option than Enzo in midfield.

He has looked better in the CB role more recently but I’d want him to nail down one position as his very soon and I’m not sure that will happen at LB or CB yet. He looks and plays like a midfielder

Thought I'd bump this... Way he recieves the ball reminds me of Eddie Newton for some reasons. Clearly see why we sold Cucurella. Growing into the club by the looks of it.

I’d drop him indefinitely. That kind of fundamental, avoidable error is unforgivable at this level. The individual bozo moments are starting to creep back in now that the early-season adrenaline has worn off, and it’s becoming impossible to ignore.

Need to score 3 goals at home because our defence couldn't hold off f**king Hull.

Extremely amateur mistake you would expect in U16s.

Zero reason to let a ball bounce and if you are going to do that for whatever reason you should ensure you are already touch tight to your opponent ready to shield any attempt to get the ball.

I never got the fuss over him when everything imploded last season. It's like he was being used as a desperate attempt to find something positive. He's another so called defender we have scouted that hasn't been coached to defend. All of these defenders have been signed on their ball playing abilities and it's like we never even considered their defensive frailties.

My missus doesnt really know about football and she even asked me...."why did he let the ball bounce over his head?". Flipping school boy defending.

Misjudging the ball in the centre circle is one thing but doing it in your own box is dire. It’s fundamental defending

This is something you get chewed out for at u11’s let alone the Premier League.

So embarrassing.

I am again saying this is a keeper error. The ball was going over penalty spot. It was uncontested box with only one player in it. Martinez is stuck on his line. He got his positioning wrong. Not even digging Martinez out as he was generally very good throughout. Perhaps one of the reasons Hato doesnt go for it is because a keeper not rooted to his line claims that with minimum fuss - the ball doesnt even have to bounce over hato because its picked out of the air.

More generally, this is a lack of understanding between outfield and goalkeeper and would expect less of these errors to occur going forward.

You should dig Martinez out, because he was atrocious yesterday. Fumbled from a set piece early in the game, almost dropped a catch soon after, completely flapped at a corner kick which led to us conceding the second, this was all in the first half. In the 2nd half, he dropped a simple shot straight at him into the feet of the Hull player. As bad as the likes of Hato and Gusto were, he was just as bad, if not worse.

Fair point. Martinez did have ample time to come and deal with it.

Martinez was allowed to be bought because he is 33, cheap and won't block Penders, where diogo Costa and Trubin would have.

OK then start Penders. Looked good against Leeds, nothing he could do on the 3 goals. Play him then, Big Pete was damn good coming in from the French league let's give Penders a run.

I wouldnt go that far. 😅 Martinez isnt Massimo Taibi!! Cant bin a world cup winning keeper after 3 games. Honestly reckon the players just need a little more time. it looks calamitous; sometimes is, for once I say bring on the international break. Everyone needs more time together on the training pitch and under Alonso. He's got the front three going as we know they could. He does need to get his ideas through to the defence and settle on preferred players.

Worthless data stat: Chelsea careers to date: Gusto 10 assists, 5800 ish minutes Neto 13 assists, 4800 ish minutes (Neto has scored more)
