“Strasbourg have agreed a deal with Chelsea to sign Amougou on a permanent deal”

This is another signing I never understood, why did we even sign him? Will be interesting to see what amount Strasbourg put on their books.

Sarr & Anselminho are another two I just don’t see the point. They are never going to get minutes.

Sarr will. Fofana is broken and Chalobah is one of the most valuable, saleable assets this mob have got.

All the rumours are that he is homesick and simply wants to return to France. He it seems is part of a two player deal to Strasbourg alongside Samuels-Smith deal in the region of £25-30 million

Buy back included. €15m transfer.

Bizarre all around, but with Paez, Samuels-Smith, Amougou, Anselmino, and Penders I’m definitely watching Strasbourg this season.

Would I be overly cynical to think that in an environment where we have to hit a sales threshold to comply with these UEFA regulations we've slightly amended our loan policy to one of sales with favourable buy back terms......to ourselves of course.

Have to admit when you add in the rumours that Petrovic deal to Bournemouth ( not going to debate should he be sold or not) alongside the two sells to Strasbourg, the fees received for Humphreys, Betolini and Kepa in total are more than £60 million.

Yes you are being cynical. Cough cough!

Happy to admit I never even realised we’d signed this bloke so he’ll be sorely missed for sure. Probably had a more positive impact on the club than Jackson.

I believe the only ones that count are players on our list a last season.

I thought Amougou was on the list tbh. I'm sure I've seen him play and that must have been in the Conf league, I think.

This is where it all goes back to the wording on the agreement and what it actually means. The £60 million figure is a figment of a journalists imagination

That same journalist said we could add players to the a list before it’s submitted on 2/9 and take the proceeds from their sales. Not going to go into it all again but my belief is that we are required to submit an A list for season 25/26 and we can only replace players on that list savings are made to compensate.

As someone said to me yesterday is it even feasible that Gittens and Pedro would sign if they weren’t guaranteed/ likely to be on the A List. His view was interesting in that he wonders if people ( journalists) have forgotten how the player costs for the squad ratio costings are put together

Have to probably sell one or two to Strasbourg as the loan limit is pretty low and we need to move some players. Really interesting to see Strasbourg next season and what their squad is like.

This just reminds me. I should just stop thinking about the accounts side of football and stick to watching the football

Problem is we don't play every day. What the hell should you do on these off days then 😅

Homesickness sounds plausible. I had to look up when we signed him: January 2025. Too short a time to judge whether he'll get decent minutes for us, but long enough for him to realise he's unhappy and wants to go home.

We paid around 15m€ for him in January, selling him for how much? In any case, we needed a CF and the board went and bought this midfielder. Baffling to say the least.

Vast majority of these kids we're signing we will never see. It's just a financial game to these people.

Some of the players are sure just for flipping so to say. 100%. That is what is new to Chelsea. If you do that with intelligence you can make profit with these players as host of clubs in the world do. I think we can use the lure of the big club to some of them to see wheter they have it or not. Nothing new to footballing world but to us it is. But I think most of us can identify which of the young players are clearly for the first team such as Estevao and Paez. We just need to learn this and not get emotional over these players.

None of the young players were harmed by this so why would you be upset.

This sort of thing will probably be even bigger when we get one or two clubs to our multiclub model.

I am not talking about the ethics of it here or wheter it is right. That is just what european football is at this moment.
