Mauro Icardi

Honestly speaking I think that "news" about Morata + cash for Icardi came up just because Morata was spotted in Milan. I'm sure if he was to go to Madrid the same article would have been published but rather this time it would say Morata + Cash for Griezman. Sometimes we just have to realize our stars are loaded with cash and they might as well jet over to Italy for something as simple as a midnight gelato.

My opinion on Icardi transfer... not until next year. Morata deserves another chance at the Prem, its too soon to rule him out, and having him leave could be something that we regret especially with the amount of potential he has. Even if Morata were to fail I don't think its in Chelsea's best interest to pay 100 million on a new striker that plays similar style to Bats. Though Icardi is slightly better, he's not 100million better.

Morata plus money is a decent deal, but he is essentially just a poacher and he's made to look much better than he probably is just because of the league.

Just look at bats at Dortmund, he's been scoring goals left right and centre in that weaker league, and he's a great poacher but not too good at anything else. We'd essentially just be buying another bats, except hes slightly older

Icardi is much better than Michy no matter how you look at it, that whole saying "hes just a poacher" is not really true either but either way we do need someone that will score goals and Icardi is perfect for that.

I’d rather keep Morata tbh.
Trouble is he looks disinterested in English football.

Looks like he is making moves for a transfer back to Italy (meeting Juve reps with his agent) so there is no point keeping someone if they clearly don't want to be here anymore.

Maybe the next manager can inspire him but who knows.

Bats has scored 9 goals in 14 appearances for Dortmund this season

Icardi 29 goals in 34 games for Inter, qualified for Champions league spot for the taking.

Bats is in a new league and hardly had time to settle in and still posted similar numbers to Icardi who plays in a weaker league. They're similar players

I'm really not that convinced which league is weaker Bundes or Serie A...

I have nothing against Michy if he proves he can score 15+ goals in 30 games thats great but as of right now Icardi is way better in my book.

I can't believe what I'm reading here. Bundesliga is probably one of the hardest and most competitive leagues in Europe. People online tend to look at Bayern, but besides them (due to the money) all other teams are close to each other. It's not because one team always wins the competition it is by defintion a weak one. If you take out the top 6 in the prem, would you call it a weak competition ?

I think I can say the same thing about the Italian league, even if Juventus is winning all the time other teams are pretty close.

What’s to say we couldn’t have Icardi, Bats, & Giroud and send Tammy out on another loan. We’re playing in Europa next season which means a bigger need for rotation. We need options and having 3 strikers definitely wouldn’t be a bad thing. Some have said Icardi & Bats are similar players though so swap Icardi for any ready made first choice striker. Or if Sarri’s style suits Bat’s play he might become first choice but as I say we need options.

100 goals in 150 matches for a very average team, only 25 years of age... I see of no reason why I shouldn't want him here. Quality is above every other feature in football. Unfortunatelly we seem to have forgetten that.

Interesting fact, poachers like Icardi and Aubameyang have won the grand total of 1 competitive trophy between them in the last 5 seasons (Dortmund German Cup 16/17).

If he's a similar player to Bats, why not just keep Bats. Under a different manager and system, he could flourish. He was banging them in for Dortmund.

The captain of Inter and they just qualified for the champions league. I don't think they will sell to rivals in Italy but we would have to pay his full release clause to get him, if that sort of money is being touted for Lewandowski then maybe it could happen but I doubt it.

I can only see us doing this if we send Morata the other way and a large sum of money.
