What's new

Middlesbrough vs Chelsea (League Cup) Tue 9th Jan 24 20:00 GMT

I think we'll be too strong for them in this first leg.

Chelsea 2 - 1 Kiddy Fiddlers

Last time we played them over 2 legs we would want to forget. 1988 Play off Final (not 1987) when they relegated us. Slaven and Trevor Senior scored their goals up there. I was at Ayresome Park that night and they deserved their win as we were abject. I can't see the same happening again thankfully. We should beat them quite comfortably.

1 of only 2 goals that Trevor Senior scored for them, despite being prolific at Reading. Typically he came good against us.

Has anyone watched Boro this season? How are they?

Like I said I watched them v Villa. Fast and kept trying,Villa were well on top but occasionally borough would get away on a break, just couldn’t finish. Villa win was well deserved. I would prefer a low block at their shop and try and catch them on the break but we will of course dominate possession without being able to score ourselves.

If we lose Bob Mortimer will be happy and who wouldn’t want Bob Mortimer to be happy?

Broja dropped to bench. It has to be an injury otherwise it wouldn’t make any sense at all. It’s a huge chance for him to build on his confidence after scoring last game.

Poch seem to have a habit of doing this… Why?
