Montenegro 1 - 1 England FT

That second half was a complete shambles and very reminiscent of Chelsea in recent times. Why the f**k did Hodgson wait so long to bring on a sub when any fool watching could see Montenegro were bossing the game and were gonna score sooner or later. And why use only one sub and the useless Ashley Young at that?

Yet another case of same old, same old. How many times do we hear about England getting rid of the dead wood and start blooding the youngsters only for the same old dross to be dished up. It has to be time to draw a line and get rid of all the sajme old faces who have had more than enough chances and in with the new. Out of last night's lot I would only retain Hart, Smalling, Rooney and Wellbeck (handy squad player but not a regular starter). Even Ash's top level days look over to me. You've got your 100 caps now quit before you get axed.

I think the last time I really got excited about England, was France 98. We had some good characters then, I found the likes

of Tony Adams, David Batty and even Martin Keown easy to get behind.

Not like today, cannot stand seeing Rooney score, he's so angry, even in happy moments he comes across as a complete thug, just

cannot get behind him, Gerrard.....meh.

Look at last nights starting line up.

01 Hart
02 Johnson
03 Cole
05 Lescott
06 Smalling
04 Gerrard
07 Milner
08 Carrick
11 Cleverley (Young - 78' )
09 Welbeck
10 Rooney

How many of those players are nailed on first team players for their clubs? Easily less than half of them.

Liverpool are 7th in the league and yet you have both Gerrard and Johnson in the team when you have Walker at Spurs playing well in the top 4 and you have Frank Lampard recently scoring his 200th league goal for Chelsea.... Tell me who the form players are?

Welbeck is arguably 4th choice striker at United and yet is starting the game last night, according to the BBC in 34 appearance for United this season he has 2 goals.

Not many of them, apart from the left-back, would get a guaranteed first team spot at Chelsea.

Nice to see that super captain of ours playing in his "proper" position take a grip of the game like we are constantly told he will. Did an incredible disappearing act in the 2nd half.

I only watched the second half so can only judge us on that but from what I watched it was the same old Stevie Me as always.

But he's look very slow now days... The was a moment when instead going in for a tackle properly he just tried to hood the ball away/into a player and it ended up almost deflecting in (from outside the area) into our goal. Why does everything he does involve smashing the ball? Such as his 50 year passes that often just drift out of play.

That may well be but I have to say Baines is on the verge of getting ahead of him at International level. He is the better all-rounder these days.

Lescott, Smalling, Milner, Young, Cleverley and Welbeck are all examples of England players only getting picked because of the club they play for.

Just look at their past clubs. Lescott at Everton, hardly ever got in the England team ( it could be argued that he was better player then as well ) Smalling at Fulham, never got into the England team, Milner at Aston Villa, got in the England team but was never a regular, he made an appearance now and again. Cleverley at Wigan, wasn't even considered for England, Young at Aston Villa, like Milner he made the odd appearance but was never a regular. Welbeck at Sunderland, never even considered for England. When all these players went to the top teams they all become regulars for England. It's a joke and the coaches involved in England are clearly not looking hard enough at other English players.

Completely agree.

I just look at that starting XI and can not see how anyone could argue that those are the most in form English players in the league right now.

Our line-up should be:

----------------Hart

--Walker-Cahill-Lescott-Cole

-------Lampard-Wilshere

Walcott-Welbeck-Chamberlain

--------------Rooney

Just my opinion. Not a massive fan of Welbeck but we don't really have anyone else. How Cleverley/Young/Milner etc. get picked is beyond me.

I would go for a 4-1-3-1-1 of:

Hart

Walker, Cahill, Lescott, Baines

Carrick

Wilshire, Gerrard, Oxlade-Chamberlain

Lampard

Rooney.

Yep,England's football team is kinda sh*t and yet again our failings are clear for all to see.

Hopefully, one day,we can find the right answer.

But I'll still support the team and as an Englishmen, it's my duty (& right) to do so................if men & women of England don't, who will?.

I still dream of winning a World Cup in my lifetime.

Just hope I can live to 150 or so!.

Nah but i bet some are finding ways to blame John Terry though
Ive heard it said twice on the radio now that it was in fact JT`s fault for making Ferdinand turn his back on England which meant we had no senior defenders. I kid you not.

Jones is not good enough at this level to play in midfield for anything other than a man-marking job, his passing is abysmal far too often. Put someone like Carrick there.

Yeah, put somone like Carrick there. Not Carrick though - someone like him (only better!).
