I always used to wonder why the mounted plod would park their horses on the pavement approaching Fulham Broadway station, maybe it was to 'secure' the area or perhaps as a show of 'force' to opposition supporters.

But I was much younger then,so I didn't really know.

Now as I'm a bit older,I realise in all probability, they just wanted the fans to tread through horse sh*t!.

Yep,they hated us that much back then.

Who hasn't had the 'pleasure' when cuing for the tube, to have a horse's arse 'accidently' knock you sideways?.

Those mounted c**ts, (err, chaps) certainly had a sense of humour!.

Mind you,the tree trunks that they had as truncheons made you think twice.

Anyone else have any fond memories of the mounted old bill?.

did you know a police horse is the only species of the Equine family to have its c*nt located on its back?

Many many times at matches for decades those f**kers would make those poor equines barge us and cadjole us into small spaces not meant for 2000 people on the way to train station....Always felt sorry for the horses while hoping one of the thugs on their backs would fall off

I been following Chelsea for 30 odd years now home and away, the odd sabbatical for variuos reasons in that time.

I can truly say I have more agro from plod than opposition fans if you exclude the verbals (which just make me laugh).

The trouble is there are many very decent coppers who are a good laugh and have a laugh with you, there are others that are complete C*nts giving the rest a bad name.. ,much the same way as fans.

I have been arrested twice, once by a mounted twat, and to this day I havent a clue what I did, all I was walking down Fulham Road, on my own, doing absolutley f*ck all, well apart from putting one foot in front of the other, when I tried to protest the c*nt didnt want to know.

My all time favourite memory of plod on horseback happened on the night of the infamous Sunderland milk cup home game

Coming out after the game it was chaos and every bloke there it seemed was looking to wack somebody and anybody…now into the crowd rode OB on his horse looking the bolloxs  until a single brick whizzed through the air and I swear took him off his horse like he had been hit with a lance of something …one of the funniest things I have seen at CFC

arsenal away 1987 horse bit my mate on the shoulder when we were queuing up it didn't break the skin but you had to see the amount of horse gob he had all over him

I thought this was a confessional thread at first

I love the police horses beautiful animal. I remember a league game against villa a couple of days before we played Copenhagen away and some nutter was shouting that he's going to Copenhagen while shouting this he decided to try kick a police horse and running off, until he got caught up by Fulham broadway I just thought to myself what a d**khead. I remember my friend stepping in horse sh*t away to hull I done some laughing because he's abit of a posser the same friend got pinned against the wall by a police horse at home to Celtic we had a few runnings with the ob that night near the pelican but when the horses charged it was time to run I had to laugh when I looked back and my mate was pinned against the wall by the horse let's just say it wasn't only horse sh*t on the pavement that night. For me the mounted horses are a key part to math days.

I've got a few memories of coppers on horseback. Most memorably perhaps was on the pitch after the last home game of the season. The "Eddie McCreadie's Blue And White Army game". Eddie Mac and the players came out to address the crowd. There was no trouble but eventually the old bill got bored and sent in the cavalry to clear the pitch.

Second time was in the queue outside Upton Park tube station after the game. I think this was the 0-3, which I think was the largest turnout to date away at West Ham. Anyway, this copper's horse took a fancy to my sheepskin and so started having a nibble. Or a chew, I wasn't quite sure. Either way the bloody thing sh*t the life out of me.

Other than that it was the usual thing, coppers on horseback steaming in to clear the crowds. Oh except for one time, away at Blackburn I think it was, this little black bloke ran up to this horse and smacked its flank (I think?) with a bit of wood. The horse didn't take a blind bit of notice, but the copper chased after him. There was so much else going on, I couldn't even tell you if he got nicked.

Semi final at Sunderland mid 80s. They wouldn't let us out the ground and we were corralled in the forecourt trying to push the gate down. The horses came in and the next thing I know I am being lifted from the ground with my head split open. I had taken one straight on the head from a truncheon and spent the next 8 hours getting home with a splitting headache and dried blood all over my head. To make things worse my mate was nicked and the train broke down outside York as did the heating. It was so cold there was ice on the inside of the windows. That was a crazy night with the OB really up for it, the only positive was that Bates paid for a barrister for many of those nicked that night and my mate got off. Respect to him for that.

Man City away in 01, when it went off in the ground i suffered an eye injury, my right eye was swollen, bloodshot ect now with the amount of fv going on that day you'd think it was from a coin, bottle, seat, but no i got hit in the eye by flying ob horsesh*t thrown by a City fan from the pitch, just hope he washed his hands after the dirty tramp.

Been locked in various pubs over the years by a copper on horseback, the Malsters for one vs Celtic.

I was in the malsters that day when we heard a roar coming from the Fulham Broadway direction so me and me mate ran down to see what was happening it was Celtic trying to force themselves out of bootsy brogans,as me and my friend approach the Celtic fans with a few other Chelsea lads the poilce came in hitting us back. Can you answer me this I wasn't around in the 80s but how bad was it that night against Celtic compared to the 80s?

FA Cup Semi-Final played at Stamford Bridge in the 70's. Decent mob of Chelsea met in the Black Bull with the intention of having a 'chat' with Palace fans, but a Southampton mob decided they wanted to have a go at us first. Steamed in and scattered them, but two mounted coppers got either side of me and lifted me off the ground by my hair, then, because I was struggling like f*ck (well, wouldn't you?), a motorcycle cop got off his bike, took off his crash helmet and smashed me over the head with it, the c*nt. I was flung into the back of a meat wagon, where it all kicked off again as it was full of Chelsea & Southampton fans together. My mate reckoned the back of the wagon was swaying all over the place! End result, an appearance at court where I was found guilty of threatening behaviour mainly due to the lies of the coppers giving evidence - same old same old.

Celtic fans had a terrible night at CFC that night, we had approx 1,000 baying mob on the fulham rd, they didnt get in the ground until half time & had to be escorted to the mh via the shed/east stand as that was the safest option, compared to some games in the 80s it was tame some games back then had endless hours of mass disorder unlike the Celtic game.

On a Celtic forum not long after there was numerous posts just about how bad it was for them that night.

Good hate the f**kers they thought it was going to be easy when it was one o clock in the day all they done was intimidated innocent passers by,they didn't want to know.
