Next Coach?

If the sporting structure remains the same then it doesn't matter who we get. Good managers wouldn't come anywhere near us. Only the ones that are ok with being told what to do would.

And we'd still be signing dross so any manager coming in would have to deal with an imbalanced squad built on market opportunities rather than footballing needs.

Sack Winstanley and Stewart, appointment one SD with a proven track record and give him the keys.

Anything besides that is a waste of time.

Big difference is, one has been doing it in the PL and one in a Micky Mouse league!

Any appointment will be a gamble, but I think we HAVE to go for someone with decent PL experience (which also rules out Luis for me). I get your argument re Iraola, but the guy has no right to be doing what he has done at Bournemouth with their budget and squad (and keep losing their better players).
I think you could have made that argument with Potter at brighton, if we hadn't taken him he would have taken another fairly good job by now, probably the same outcome. our best managers had no prem experience. In fact the only person to have managed two clubs and won the league with the second of them is Claudio. What we need is some one who can walk in to a room look the likes of Enzo in the eyes and say you have done nothing in the game as far as im concered, i'm putting my medals on the table for you and if you follow me you will have a bunch of these as well, if you don't f*ck of out the club.

As I write that it's worth noting that no manager will succeed under these conditions

Not buying the PL experience at all. Never been a pre requisite for success.

The guy has every right to be doing what he's doing at Bournemouth. Similar to Brighton, Brentford, etc. you can look great there just by meeting expectations.

But on your mind, you can look good at Al Ahli and be better fit for the PL and the pressure of Chelsea. Insane.

Simeone all day for me. None of the names mentioned above are ones I would be confident would drag our bang average squad into a team that at least looks cohesive albeit short on technical ability

who?

Chelsea lay ‘groundwork’ for shock Saudi appointment as ‘contact’ made with ‘leading candidate’Chelsea have laid the ‘groundwork’ for the shock appointment of Al-Ahli boss Matthias Jaissle as ‘contact’ is made with their ‘leading candidate’ after Liam Rosenior was sacked on Wednesday.
Actually an elite coach with a winning track record.

So, naturally we'll end up with Thomas Frank.

How much PL experience did Wenger, Mourinho, Conte... And the rest Have?

If you're good enough you're good enough.

In the unlikely event that Simeone is actually a realistic prospect, I would do unspeakable things to have him at Chelsea.

It would, however, betray yet more slapdash long-term planning from the sporting directors. He would be by an enormous distance the best manager to manage Chelsea under BlueCo, but he's hardly the stylistic successor to Maresca (and the players they signed for his ponderous style of play).

I do have a slight hope concern that he would physically assault a couple of our more... lackadaisical players though.

I think Iraola is a good manager and would do well here. But only if the club allows him to work without the interference we have seen with last managers under Clearlake. I suspect many decent managers will not consider our position unless some sort of reassurance is made around changes on that side.

But on your mind, you can look good at Al Ahli and be better fit for the PL and the pressure of Chelsea. Insane.
Don't be dismissive, we probably wouldn't beat All Ahli.

He's won a CL over there and is in another CL final this season.

He's also won silverware in Austria.

That's factually better than finishing 10th with Bournemouth or Fulham.

Lol I dont want Iraola or the Al Ahli manager.

I just said I'd prefer him to Iraola because at the very least he's been a winner. He's won leagues, cups etc.

I believe Ranieri may be the only manager to have won the Premier League having managed a different team before in the PL.

I can't think of another tbf

What about Kenny Dalglish? Won at Blackburn in 1995 and coached Liverpool in the years prior.

All this talk of a new manager, we dont need it, the management team and board clearly are in and out of the dressing room, I reckon they should take it on. Then when it goes wrong, they can be sacked, only way we'll get the scum running the club out of the club.

Any idea why he was fired by Red Bull Salzburg, leading him to move to Al Ahli? Red Bull generally dominate the Austrian league so that is not a great benchmark.

Seems he was released, he wanted to go to Saudi. Probably money.
