Next generation consoles

^ My son was the same way Eb. I showed him some of the stuff that Microsoft presented and he was just meh over the whole thing.

I wonder how the PS4 is going to look...

Well, were to start on that announcement! Such a disappointing name infinity would of been much better, they're trying to turn a games console in to a full on entertainment system. MS have completely forgotten about their core fan base, the core gamers. IGN have done a survey about peoples reaction to the announcement and MS could be in trouble with it. Here have a look...

I have a TV to watch & a computer to surf the internet, I buy a games console specifically to play games. I can see me switching to Sony at this rate, it'll take something special at E3 to change my mind.
Games will always be the core of the xbox, you will see at E3.

This is the next gen so I can understand they were eager to show off the new technology which was impressive.

Didnt like the presentation either because I wanted to see the games and so on.

I hope you're right mate I really do, but I'm not so sure they're using a weaker processor than sony and of the 8gb of RAM only 5 is for games as opposed to sony giving developers the full 8gb to play with, it seems whoever brings out the better console then follows it up with a poor one and allows the other company back in.

Problem with the new Xbox, half the stuff the demoed at the presentation won't even apply to the release outside of the US.

Xbox Live TV isn't going to be available upon it's release outside of the US and the whole American Football Fantasy Team integration is non relevant to outside of the states.

The whole 15 exclusives in the first year is also most likely misleading as there is a very good chance a fair chuck of those exclusives are going to be Kinect games.

Don't think any specs are confirmed yet for cpu and gpu? all we got to see where the 8gb of ram if im not mistaken.

Rumours and leaks and that could all be wrong, i'll just make sure to decide after E3!

Haven't watched the presentation but I think its outrageous that you are not allowed to play 360 games on it. The pre owned fee is also a complete disgrace. I have only seen still of graphics, could pass off as a 360 game from what I have seen. Maybe I sound like an old fart, but with each console release I feel the core fun of gaming is dying out for the sake of realistic graphics. Xbox with their apps and tv etc is a good idea to appeal to a wide audience, but are they losing their way a bit? <br />

Xbox just killed it at E3, so many good exclusives and twitch tv.

499 USD for it though, could have been cheaper - better start saving up a little every now and then, its out in november.

Battlefield 4 and Titanfall crushed CoD, both looks amazing and run 60 fps, the new Halo game was a massive surprise as well, dead rising 3/quantum break

looked amazing!

PS4 will have to have many better exclusives to make me get one of their consoles.

It's going to be hard to justify spending that much on destroying what I have left of a social life  :laugh2:

Ooh,that looks tasty. Is the dog tag thing about cortana?

Well Sony just destroyed Microsoft. No used game policy, no online connection required, no stupid Kinect thing and it's much cheaper. Also i actually prefered their games to the ones Microsoft have shown us, i am not a fan of FPS games at all.

For me Sony just won, and they didn't really need to do anything to achieve it.

They just listened to the customers something Microsoft did not do.

Don't get me wrong I prefer the 360 to the ps3 but it looks like the ps4 just won the console battle for this next gen class.

For me personally its not a problem, I have never bought a second hand or lent a game from anyone and I definitely prefered all the xbox one exclusives compared to ps4. My 360 is also always connected to the internet so it wont be a massive difference.

Can't wait to play The Division though, looked great.

If Ps4 had the games I liked I would have bought it but it didnt.

People will disagree but the console market has shrunk in the last few years, i can see the market only supporting one major player not two.

At the moment my money is on the ps4 due to the cheaper price, superior hardware and less restrictions.

If you missed it, the division - online, rpg shooter. looks amazing.

Good lord the PS4 is an ugly machine. Like two PS2's glued together. However, its loads cheaper than the XboxOne and has none of that online bullsh*t....I think my allegiance is switching to Sony after all these years. Either way, Watch Dogs will definitely be my first purchase, they released a new trailer yesterday.

Regarding the PS4 price, how sure are we that thats not their cheapest bundle so to speak?

Might be a lesser HDD, that ps4 eye thing not included, no headsets and so on etc.

Still a lot to be confirmed here!

Sony smacked it.

No used games policy, no need for online verification, lower price point, better relationship with Indy and 3rd party developers, no Kinect, better spec.

I was getting a PS4 regardless but I'm very, very happy after that E3 presentation.

I don't care about the used games thing, the always on internet doesn't affect me and I'm not as worried as many about the kinect snooping on me. What concerns me is the kinect adverts thing. Adverts that won't go away until you acknowledge them and respond to them and the price. We're paying a lot more than they do in America for the privilege of not having the TV features, oh joy.

I have never been able to enjoy Halo, it just doesn't interest me. I am likely to only get 4 or 5 games a year. The ones I'll get are GTA V, FIFA, Battlefield 4 (on PC obviously), Gran Turismo/Forza and maybe one other game like Watchdogs or Tekken or something.

Pretty much gonna go PS4 for the price alone.
