LBJD - Japan would be the name of your band. Is David Silvian still going? !
Oh yes. He is a very serious artist these days. His records tend to be a bit hit and miss and can be very hard work.

Sex Pistols? The most influential band to come out within the last 30 years. (In my humble opinion).

Sometime's the industry need's a good kick up the arse to shake things up a bit, and stunt the endless production line of crap that is released.

They did it.
I actually agree with this. Not in a musical sense. But in the fact they changed the way music was marketed but most of all they proved that anyone can do it and that you didnt have to be a trained talented musician to have a hit record especially in the horrible musical waters of the mid 70s ( IE Pink Floyd)

That ethos still lives and breathes today.
Wow! Thanks, BJD.

Sorry to stray off topic... I'll let you lot get back to your 80's drivel.

I don't deny the Pistols were very significant in terms of causing a seismic shift in music but then again so did The Spice Girls and both were equally a product of marketing rather than talent.

So yes the Pistols were significant, yes they were revolutionary (well kind of) but would I put one of their albums on now and listen to it - good God no, there are pub bands in my local boozer who can make a better noise.

Right, that's quite enough of this old b*llocks! Everyone knows that the best music was made in the 60's & 70's - I can't believe what I'm reading on this thread - decent 80's music?

Now then - instead of recalling your drug-induced memories of Adam Ant and his ilk, treat yourselves to half an hour of great music this evening on BBC4 at 8:30. Yes, the wonderful BBC are actually going to show half an hour of AC/DC live at Essex University, recorded in 1977 (so obviously the legend that is Bon Scott will be featured)

Naturally, being me, that's not bloody good enough! Just 30 minutes???
