Pedro Neto *Official*

He has put in a good shift from pre-season to the season kicking off but people rarely appreciate when he does well and when he doesn't perform, he is the first to get trash talked on. You have other players who when are basically made available for sale, go on strike or don't give 100%. Neto has given 100% even when his future is uncertain. Definitely under appreciated and despite a huge majority of fans not rating him, no coincidence that Alonso continues to select him..

Got his contract extension and was back to being sh*t. Really poor performance today, looked as clueless as ever on the wing.

No idea why the contract was ever improved, he still had 5yrs left on a ridiculous £160k/w wages. We have now improved that just to extend it for an extra year. He is only serviceable as a WB as things stand, never as a winger.

 
Alonso, and all of us on here, have to believe and have faith in Estevao.

Neto is a good squad option, and he is certainly working harder at the defensive side of his game, but he must not be any kind of barrier to Estevao's development. Estevao has to be the first choice. And if the kid has a few off games, we suck it up and stick with him. He is different gravy.

Lose Estevao and it will be a Salah and De Bruyne level of a mistake.

 
A leopard never changes his spot. I seem to remember Cucurella and Jackson signed a contract extension shortly before we sold him, got to hope it’s a similar deal.

 
Wingers need to be able to cross the ball, Im fine with his work rate, but his inability to find a player at the front or back post is trauma-inducing.

I'm struggling to see where he fits in the team. Hope we can find him a club in January or next summer, hope he looks for one.

 
Defensively he was good, stopped quite a few counter attacks. I am not sure if it was him that didnt mark the runner which lead to blocked cross and corner for the first goal but even if it was would be harsh to blame him for poor set piece defending.

Attacking wise he was barely involved and when he did get it constantly made the wrong decisions as usual.

 
Every team needs squad fillers. Players like Madueke. Never top draw but, they come on and might do OK. And occaisionally they might surprise you and do something a bit more than OK.

Neto is the Portugese version of Madueke. You miss him when he isn't there, but then you wish he wasn't there when he is. He needs a headband.

Think it will be Chavarria who drops to the bench. Palestra looked very dodgy in his last game v Sociedad and looks like a walking red flag.

 
Can’t wrap my head around a ‘converted winger’ being better defensively than he is going forward.

He did an OK job at keeping their full back pinned back.

But my f**king god, he’s such a hinderance going forward, NEVER makes the right decision, can’t cross for toffee, gets in the way of other more able minded attackers.

I’m fed up of having to watch him, hopefully it’s a nice spell on the bench after this international break.

 
He is truly abysmal, how are you not putting this across goal first time. Football IQ is on the floor. Cant believe there’s people who defend him on here, I’d have Mudryk back in a heartbeat over him


 
Hardly conclusive one clip when he is playing at RB, I'm also a little concerned about the new 'Willian' who is full of tricks yet can't hit the target.

He’s also not playing at RB and isn’t young. He’s one of the senior players in the squad.

On the age I was not referring to Neto.

We can criticise lots of players if we look for it, I personally think we need different formations for packed defences yet we are overloaded with similar attacking players.

We are facing teams that sit and defend like Sarri or Conte did with men spaced correctly making it difficult to go through them.

I actually was surprised Gusto did not play RB. and he can cross from the dead-line when he is up for it unlike a make-shift RB and inverted winger.
