I wish we hadn't moved now.Got your PM - the world just got incredibly smaller!![]()
The whole area is a tip now mate, even St Helier looks rough now, and don't get me started on Sutton.I wish we hadn't moved now.
Tongue in cheek, mate. Here in Peckham we're gentrified, who'd have thought it!! I often (avoid) going through Mitcham and Sutton on my way to my parents now in Epsom but I do wonder when I drive through how my life would have been different if I'd have grown up there. The whole area is a tip now mate, even St Helier looks rough now, and don't get me started on Sutton.
Wow! I'm going to try to transfer that to the girlie thread! Gorgeous!MKBlues - does this bring back any memories of our Chelsea days?![]()

That's actually my passport photo for the Gaynesford school trip to Belgium in 1972, pretty sure I was pissed at the time!

I lived in the next road along, Russell Road!Harwood Avenue, second or third house on the left. We lived upstairs in my Grandparents house until my Dad got a job in Fulham and the house came with it. My main memories of Mitcham are when we used to go back and visit and me and my brother would have to spend the whole saturday evening in the corridor at the back of the Black Bull while the family got pissed up in the pub. I think the Cricketers had a family room so I prefered it when we went there.
Yeah, that does look a bit naughtyYikes !!!! That's one nasty scar down the nose.
' kinell you've hit the nail there. It's that smell of the beer barrel corridor, there's nothing like it, I could lick the carpet and whenever I walk past a dive pub it grabs you like a forgotten dream. After we moved to Fulham my Mitcham life moved to the Jolly Brewers in St. Dionis Road, Parson's Green similarly the packet of crisps (Smith's) and a bottle of Coke but this time before a Chelsea match. The smell of youth, holidays in caravans in Camber Sands, crap cabaret bands copying the Rubettes!I lived in the next road along, Russell Road!My family normally went in the Crown, as we'd be visiting my grandparents in Riverside Drive. I was always happy being left outside with a coke and a bag of crisps. I remember I used to love the smell of stale beer every time the door opened, explains a lot about my future love of pubs. Sometimes they'd go to the Kings Head (Burn Bullock), Queens Head, or The Cricketers. I think that's where my love of pub crawls developed, it's all my grandparents fault!!!![]()

I'm not sure because my computer has been playing up a bit lately, having similar problems with my e-mail.Remember you well mate, I'm trying to work out how to post pics of some old membership cards from 77 to 95 on here.
