Great Rangers goals. If Davie hadn't weaved his magic for the third goal Sandy's would have been goal of the game.

 
Scottish League Cup Final 1964. Two Rangers greats. Would be contenders for being in the all-time greatest ever Rangers eleven..

Remember when Tennent's beer cans used to have pictures of women on them ? Is Tennent's lager still available?? View attachment 42768

Tennent's is still available and was very much in demand when Scottish fans were in Boston for the World Cup. The can is predominantly yellow with the red T logo. If I remember correctly the pictures of women were scrapped sometime in the eighties. It's many years since I drank Tennent's Lager. Found it and other lagers too fizzy and tasteless. Give me a cask ale!

Rangers beat Southampton 4-1 in the Tennent Caledonian Cup Final in front of 32,000 at Ibrox.

Bobby Russell, Derek Parlane, Alex Forsyth and Alex MacDonald scored.

In the background, the old east terracing has been demolished during the close season and the new Copland Road Stand is in it’s very early stages of construction.

The residents of the tenements in the background, had a great free view of the matches until about December 1978!
