FIFA competition, rather than UEFA.Think you missed out our previous win of the Fifa Club World Cup.
Far too early to make that comparison.Maresca made the mistake I feared he would by putting in a weaker side. And we were punished in the first half.
Rectified that by fixing it at half time.
Palmer is a drogba reborn. Turns from a world class player into a goat in finals. This is the third time in a final he's turned it on and the first time for Chelsea. I look forward to our next final.
Roll on the world cup. We've got a chance. And next season who knows.
Yep, saw the header after I posted. ApologiesFIFA competition, rather than UEFA.
It's all good. Still basking in the glory at the moment.Yep, saw the header after I posted. Apologies
Gusto just can't come inside, I think he's a very very good overlapping fullback, even wingback, but he is not a center mid, he also isn't James, who again reminded us what a miss he is when he's not fit. World class.I expect everyman and his dog saw that line up last night and though WTF?
That first 45 was up there with one of our worst performances of the season. We weren't at the races and could have been more than 1-0 down. It didn't take a brain surgeon to know that Gusto had to be replaced by James and thankfully that helped to change the game. Later Neto (who was completely ineffective), went off and it allowed Cole to find the space and produce the magic to turn the game.
I have seen the comments from Maresca about managing players like James and I do get it. We want him fit and don't want him breaking down again. But in the last game of the season, in a final?
Anyway, it doesn't matter as the second half was great and we romped home and we have another trophy, so well done to all.
Only downsides were Gusto who was shocking. Jackson who wasn't much better. Somehow scored when he missed the ball with his head and as for the miss control when going clean through that just summed up how bad he is. He's no Torres! And it was Sancho's turn to look our best wide man, so do we keep him after all?
I deliberately said to my husband "I can't see where a goal is coming from" and text my son "this isn't great is it" at 1-0. It worked!I claim bragging rights for the carefully laid jinx on this earlier in the thread !
This was a quality goal.
He's performed in 4 finals now. He's on his way.Far too early to make that comparison.
Managed to watch about 60 seconds. What a bunch of cringeworthy, detestable, wastes of space.this is funny
