Reggie Walsh

Theres an argument for him being in the matchday squad either today and or v Wolves.

He played well last week mostly with his back to goal playing crisp short passes. he did nothing wrong, plenty of touches, no wastage.

 
Just seen he's been loaned to Wigan, while McQueen's been loaned to Portsmouth.

I thought he could get a move to a stronger side in the Championship instead, does anyone know if Wigan are the right "project" for the lad?

Reece James did ok there.

Reggie's only 17, (18 in October) so a season in League One, then next year in the Championship, and then maybe a year in the PL after that, and that should set him up nicely ... to be sold to Strasbourg LOL

Much like with Reece James, Jude Bellingham, Mount, Tomori, Guehi etc. starring in an overachieving team can actually be more beneficial than having a kid fight for closely-managed minutes at a title contender or relegation-battler.

I agree, that's why I'm a little worried given that Wigan are struggling in League One for years now and last year they finished just 7 pts ahead of the drop zone. Can't say I've watched them though, so just curious if they have a key role for him there.

Although when Reece played there they almost got relegated from Championship (they got relegated the next year) as well and he still did great so there's that.

 
Hope it goes well for the lad. Whatever happens I hope he comes back with the attitude that he doesn’t want to spend his career in league 1 and it helps him work even harder to make it at Chelsea.

 
Just sat down in Wigans stadium to give the lad a watch.

Live up in the north west now, so not too much of a trek. Glad to see him starting.

Planned to get up to Burnley a few times for Satpaeav, shame his injured

 
Well wigan are sh*t. Carraghers lad has all his dad's attacking ability and none of his defensive ability. Wigan have had two chances and Reggie made them both. Looks frustrated at the sh*t hes playing with though, was lucky not to get booked after clattering someone late after they give it away too easily for the hundredth time

 
Taken off on 80.

Put a shift in, one of the best players on the pitch, shame the rest were playing for Wycombe.

Not sure what the benefit of playing for a team this bad is going to be for him.

That version of Reece was so athletic. Still a great player, more mature. But wow did he burst onto the scene.
