There was talk of a training ground bust up last thursday and that Robben only played on saturday because of the injury situation.
I can understand Mourinho's frustration. You have a match winning player who gets injured everytime there is a strong breeze.
Apparently this latest injury is quite serious but I don't know if he would be any less injury prone elsewhere.
He certainly isn't a player that you can rely on. I get the feeling that Drogba would play with one leg for Jose and look happy about it. I don't see that from Robben, which is a terrible shame because the boy is a huge talent.

I also heard a tale on the radio that Jose was furious when RObben went off against Liverpool as he wasn't convinced RObben was all that injured and thought he could have run it off.

Not unsubstantiated Loz, it's just that you're are getting me mixed up with Jose
Joking aside, there are many who do question just how badly injured Robben is at times. I'm not talking about this most recent one or the Blackburn one, but the countless others in between. As others have said, some players give the impression that they would play on regardless - maybe more fool them, but with Robben you get the impression that the slightist little thing and he will take the easy option. Maybe the lad is just really unlucky or just plain injury prone but if that is the case and we cannot rely on him then we should definitely look to replace him.
(and before people start giving the Joe Cole injured arguement & shall we get rid of him too - Joe has had surgery on a broken bone and does NOT have a history of injuries whatsoever!!!)

Jose Mourinho is reported to have run out of patience with Arjen Robben's injuries and could be ready to sell the winger.
Mourinho was apparently fuming with the player after he picked up a knock during Saturday's defeat at Liverpool and the Blues boss is said to be unhappy with the player's lack of fight.
The Blues boss is reported to have screamed: "Shaun get ready to go on. Get him f****** off" as he prepared to replace the Dutchman with Shaun Wright-Phillips at Anfield.
After the game Mourinho also hinted at unrest between the duo when saying: "I don't know how long he will be out. But with Robben, normally it is for a long time every time he is injured."
Bayern Munich are known to be keen on the player and although Mourinho is unlikely to cash in during the January transfer window, a summer exit cannot be ruled out.
Real Madrid are also interested.

in my mind kalou will phase robben out.
on footy games when you have a player who is superior but always injured, you just go with the lesser player that plays all the time and try to replace the superior player
the gamble on the better player just isnt a viable option when the percentage of return from him will be so low.
not only that but the risk player also takes up a sub spot aswell, meaning you always need a like-for-like replacement on the bench in case he gets injured, whereas if you know a player is a low injury risk, you dont need to waste that sub spot..

you have got to admit thought that feigned or otherwise it doesn't seem to take much to put him out of action for long periods.

to be fair he broke his foot on two occasions in his first season due to awful tackles...yes he seems prone to hamstring strains etc which is frustrating but on saturday he landed badly and turned his ankle over...he has been rather unlucky...but if the fans and jose are frustrated, imagine how he feels

I agree in the first season there wasn't much to be done but he's half way through his third season now and it seems to me that he has been missing injured an awful lot over that period.
I know there is not much can be done about it but you do have to question whether we are ever going to see him get a decent run of games to show us what a great player he can be.

yeah that would be bad now wouldnt it! Seriously, I have stated elsewhere that i feel Robben will leave. I think, as great as he may be, he is too injury prone. He can be electrifying in some games, and then others you don't even know he is on the pitch.
However, I doubt we will see him leave in the jan tran window. We are a depleted enough squad already. If we were to get rid of Robben in the future, I really hope we bring in a couple more, young, promising players/wingers. And not more central mids.

I can understand JM's frustration, and the players for that matter. I think the guy has been genuinly unlucky. Although i think he is a great player and would hate to see him leave, i have questioned his temprement myself. Some players need a kick up the arse and others need an arm around the shoulder. I just think he is such a talent and he should be kept. I have had this conversation with a geordie and a y*do. The geordie talking about Keiron Dyer said he was their best player and should be kept at all costs even though he is injury prone. The y*do said although Ledly King is one of their best players he missed to many games and they should cash in on him. Seeing as we dont need the money, i'm with the geordie.(what do y*do's know anyway?)
