Silly Season - Summer Window 24/25

Lots of talk of Sesko but also seems Arsenal are very interested.

Don't care how good he is but I hope he goes to Arsenal because we need to sign a proper experienced centre forward coming into their prime.

I hope the directors panic with the lack of options and just pay Gyokeres clause or someone similar.
Isn’t Gyokeres about the same level as Sesko? I mean he’s still pretty unproven, didn’t do much at Brighton, outstanding at Sporting but then it’s Portuguese league.

If you want an established striker then we should be looking at the likes of Martinez, Toney, Isak etc.

Well I'd take Toney as well but Isak and Martinez won't happen.

There's a small pool of centre forwards out there and even though like you say Gyokeres is still unproven in a big league I would still take him over others due to the sheer amount of numbers he's reached and his dominance. He was the best player in the championship and now the Portuguese league, we spent nearly 110m on a player who played like 20 games for Benfica so what's the difference.

Are we trying to sign another CB?  Bayern Munich’s Dayot Upamecano to Chelsea?  As  we search for Thiago Silva’s replacement . . .Maybe this will mean another CB exiting our group?
Was disappointed when we didn't sign Upamecano and De Ligt originally but been unimpressed with the both of them since.  Both remind me of Harry Maguire.  Guessing it would be a massive fee too.

Personally would rather Mateta or Muniz than Sesko. But Sesko fits our profile of player.

Olise may very well happen. Who the hell is leaving then?
Olise and palmer rotating on the right/centrally with Madueke and Carney as back/rotation?   Think Olise will be a big signing and we need to make room for him however.  Sterling is the only one that could be sold but then who's playing left side?   Nkunku?

Hutchinson.

Paez and Estevao won't be here till next season. Olise tends to pick up injuries. I would guess these will be Enzos options for winger/Forward/8s

8s: Palmer, Caicedo, Lavia, Nkunku, Carney.

Wingers/Wide forwards:  Olise, Madueke, Sterling, Mudryk, Jackson, Palmer.

Center Forward: Nkunku, new signing (like Muniz), Jackson.

Based on what our guests from Leicester have said, Enzo ball line up may well be:

Kepa/Sanchez

Fofana

Tosin

Colwill

James

Enzo

Olise

Caicedo

Palmer

Sterling/Nkunku

Nkunku/Muniz/new striker.

From what I’ve gathered Maresca wants his wingers staying wide so Nkunku (and Palmer) doesn’t fit that profile.
I can only really see Nkunku play as the striker in Marescas system and to me, having Nkunku/Jackson for that spot means that we CAN wait with the striker purchase if the right profile isn’t available this summer

Yeah Nkunku as a touch line winger is an absolute waste. Palmer can play there but it remains to be seen how effective with no overlapping fullback ala Gusto.

So many questions.

Sterling?  Maybe a swap?

What are BIG MOVES?

Olise has a significant release clause that will need to be met.

Not to mention that next summer we have the wonder children arriving from South America.

Nini on Blue lions podcast has said Italian media are reporting Arsenal are about to drop their interest in Sesko and go for Oshiman from Napoli.

Napoli want to sell him, they need to they have no CL and he earns 10mill a year, and Napoli are reported to like 2 Arsenal players in a cash plus swap.

Apparently our 2 main transfer targets are Sesko and Olise.

Round up of the rumour mill sales:

Gallagher: club and player in talks with Aston Villa. Possible Fee mentioned 50mill.

Chalobah: Fulham held intitial talks. Said to be keen. Possible fee mentioned 25mill.

Maatsen: Dortmund interested but wanted to negotiate a fee much less than 35mill clause. Bayern watching.

Broja: Wolves and Monaco held talks, Monaco more serious. Possible fee mentioned 20mill.

Hutchinson: Ipswich, Stuttgart and other "unnamed" sides keen. Possible fee mentioned 30mill.

Alex Matos: unnamed clubs. Possible fee mentioned 10mill.

Chalobah at only 25 mil is a bargain.

Maatsen at 35 mil after his dortmund stint is well priced too.

Why does it alway seem like we give out great deals when selling yet get raped in the other direction 😙

Because we have owners that like to come bowling into town with their dicks out for the world to see.

Regardless of the media speculation and the club denials, any sane person can see that if you wade in spending £1bn on players so much so that you end up with players changing in the corridor and you have to knock down a wall in the training ground changing room to fit them all in, then at some point you have no option to become a selling club for a period. Free hitters for FFP are a soft target for hard negotiation for prospective buyers.

Man City always seem to move players on for fairly reasonable fees. We don't know half of what their finances are about but these clowns have been here five minutes and their collective underwear is on view to the world and speculation daily.

Lewis Hall - to the Jawdees €30+ million

Malang Sarr - anybody? for nothing.

Kepa?

Are Villa still interested in Conor? They just bought Chelsea old Boy Ross £5m Barkley
Apparently they are. I suggested the other day that, with McGinn, and Luiz, plus bringing in Barkley, they might not need another midfield body. On the other hand, with the extra demands of CL next season, they could be stocking up the midfield cupboard. They seriously ran out of puff in the Conference League this year. Once bitten, etc.
