Shane? Got to be the same bloke. If it is, I'm sorry to hear that. How did he die, any idea?

There was a regular coach leaving from Greenford Hall, which I think was run by Charlie H from Southall, and another couple of coaches from Hayes. Jezz with curly hair might ring a bell. And you must have known Ginger from Hounslow.
How the f**k couldn't i remember it was Shane ffs worked on a building site in Blackfaires donkey years ago with him  he was a hod carrier back then  ..........so many names back then ginger rings a bell used to pop over to harrow on the hill and the target pub .............only now and again f**king long trot on the tube from south london  not sure how he died could be brain tumour or cancer i might be wrong but i get back later after i  ave chat with a pal and ask

Same as me mate. I can close my eyes, see the bloke's face - with and without the afro, but until it finally clicked, I couldn't remember his name to save my life.

I also remember sneaking into the North Stand through the flats on Fulham Road, then through the gap in the fence and up the hill. Nothing to do with being a tight bar steward, that was Bilko's fault for not letting me get in through the turnstiles. I'd often dive straight for the queue for the bovril hut to make it look as if I'd been hanging around for a while.

I'll be 57 (fifty f**king seven!!) later this year. Looking at that pic from the pre-season tour you posted a while back, I've definitely seen you before. Don't think I knew you that well, maybe a mate of a mate. Or a mate of a mate of a mate, which is pretty much how it used to be back then. If you didn't know anyone, you always knew someone who knew someone.

hello lads I was at school with Shane in the 70's and he was a top funny bloke.remember him coming in with his DM's painted a different colour every week and getting detentions for it.he was 3 years older than me but his other half was in my class. He was well known around our part of town and when he passed on approx 8-10 years ago,I can remember everyone remarking how they just couldnt beleive we wouldnt see him again. He was a real character and he had 1 or maybe 2 macaws that were taller than him!On the Chels side of things he was famous for a certain incident in Manchester way back when involving a short period of silence("any of you cockney b******** in here?") in a city centre pub followed by a chair/large mirror combo.Booze and fags got the better of him in the end but was a genuinely funny man.
