Was it too dark for you? BTW I loved the Darth Vader fight scene & that was Donnie Yen's best ever role - this is coming from a huge Donnie Yen fan - I have seen many of his movies & I have a few as well

Nah, i expected it to be dark and i don't mind that it was either. There was no way any of the Rogue One members could be left to live at the end. If any of them lived then they would have had to be in Episode 4. 

Pretty much the whole movie was very good for me, but the last 10-15 minutes were the best. I loved seeing Vadar slaughter the Rebels as they desperately tried to get the stolen Death Star plans to safety. We needed to see why everybody feared Vadar so much and this scene got it spot on. It all tied in perfectly with the start of Episode 4.

Nothing about the movie really annoyed me. The only thing that i could pick out is the Death Star not blowing up planets as easily as it did with Alderaan in Episode 4. It takes a few minutes for planets to blow up in Rogue One. But really that would be me nit picking. 

I didn't expect to see Tarkin and Leia made into CGI, that took me by complete surprise. I could tell straight away that they were CGI but it didn't really bother me. I thought they did quite a good job with it. I usually hate CGI stuff like this too so i'm surprised that it doesn't bother me so much. I also loved the actions scenes. The battles in Star Wars are never bad anyway and the ones in this film were right up there with the best in my opinion.

I enjoyed Episode 7 a lot when i first seen it, but over time i have found some things about it that i have grown to really dislike. I hate that Rey is so good at everything she does. She can use the force after only just hearing about it, she beats a Sith Apprentice ( i don't care that he is injured, she still shouldn't stand a chance against him ), she is really strong and can beat everybody up. She can fly the Millennium Falcon with ease. She even knows how to look after it better than Han Solo, somebody who has had the thing for years. At least they didn't do this with Jyn in Rogue One. She can look after herself, but she isn't made out to be some super human capable of doing everything. I also didn't like Han Solo's death in Episode 7. I can just about accept him being killed off, but i just thought the actual death and him falling off a bridge with his body to never be seen again was pretty crap. Him, Luke and Vadar are probably the most famous Star Wars characters, Han's death needed to be more than that. 

To be honest, if this is what they are going to do with all of the old characters then i would rather they didn't bother making new films in the same timeline. I would much rather have it end with the happy ending of Return of the Jedi than see all of those characters killed off.

just saw it, overall it was pretty okay i guess, have a lot of issues with the movie especially with the very very disappointing characters but the action sequence is awesome, and that last scene damn

i give this a solid 7.5/10

I thought the cast of characters in Rogue One were way more interesting than the ones in The Force Awakens. Just based on the characters I would rather see another movie which would include them rather than the ones we're stuck with for the third trilogy. I hope Episode VIII fixes that a little.

To me Rogue One was the best Star Wars movie since Return of the Jedi. Solid 3/5

the characters are very underdeveloped, especially the forest whitaker guy, he's the most interesting character in the movie and i know almost nothing about him, his group, and his relationship with jyn. in the first and second act there's too much unnecessary scenes with very slow pacing, it could be use to tell more about the backstory of the new characters. 

and watching the movie i cant shake up the idea of this being a filler movie full of fan service for disney to make more money and sell more toys, i mean it works i geeked the sh*t out when the prototype death star blow up the planet slowly and that climax battle with amazing cgis, but still plot wise if you're a star wars fan and you watched that first movie opening crawl you know what's gonna happen next, and it really dampens my experience watching it

I was pleasantly surprised by Rogue One. The Force Awakens felt to me much more like big budget fan fiction than a proper installment in the saga. The script was so cut/paste that I felt it was almost insulting to people like myself who've been fans since the original trilogy (some of my mates would say that it wasn't "almost" but was insulting). It's not a masterpiece by any means, but I feel much more optimistic about these spin-off/standalone Star Wars movies after having seen this. Even with all the faults, it was still the most solid Star Wars movie I've seen since the Return of the Jedi.

throughout watching the film I was constantly waiting for reason i should care about these characters and it never really happened, The only two character I gave a shiz about was the robot the usual likable disney comic relief character and blind ip man because he's simply unique from the getgo and actually has a personality, while the others especially jyn was just dour and bland.. with their very minimal backstory i couldn't care less what's gonna happen to them 

yes ofc the script's waaay more original then ep7 (doesn't take a lot to be fair), but overall i thought it's just an alright straight forward action advanture movie

Just dark enough. I'm glad they did Donnie Yen justice. TFA failed with The Raid stars.

 
Just seen it, loved it! A real great film, 10 times better than TFA, which was dog doo really! 

Loved the recreation of the original characters!

Finally saw it, it was fantastic. I think it bettered the Force Awakens in that the film increased in quality as it went along whereas TFA decreased. Although unlike the first 20 mins or so of Rogue One I was never bored at all during TFA so I think for me TFA is the better of the two. The final few minutes of Rogue One were worth the admission price alone though.

I liked Donnie Yen better in the Fist of the Red Dragon, Iron Monkey, Bodyguards & Assassins or even Hero. To each their own I guess, but one thing is for damn sure is that Donnie Yen played a good role in Rogue 1

They should switch their content to condensed from expanded then. You still see who posted and the time but you don't see any of the post itself.

The thread has 'Spoilers' in the title, I'd say that's fair and sufficient.

Totally agree with this. Except for the Vader fight scene, never found the movie gripping.
