Tariq Lamptey

[Jezz]

Another hidden gem from our Academy system.

Take a bow young man! You just contributed to Arsenal's further demise!

[Phillip]

Thanks for starting this thread, Jezz. What a debut.  Reminded me of Kalas's debut against Liverpool (Oh, nevermind).

[big blue]

After Emerson's perfomance, i wouldnt be suprised if maatsen gets an opportunity soon aswell.

Awesome debut from Lamps

[Phillip]

That's weird, as I do not see a thread for Lamptey in the first two pages of the Chelsea Reserves section of this web site.  I presume there is a thread for him somewhere in that section, but it must be way down the list of persons talked about there.

[Dr Gonzo]

Is he a right back, I literally know nothing about the kid? Really impressive to come into this game and play like that.

[Sexyfootball]

So ... Lamptey or James ?

Bit spoilt for choice on that right side now ?

[Sexyfootball]

Very impressed with his positioning today. Some turn of pace as well ...and very direct by the look of it !

[Valerie]

I had to look him up, hadn't heard of him. But now.... excellent debut

Born in the year 2000 though, that never fails to scare me.

Well, given that Arsenal does not have many tall players, I think Lamptey would not be picked for teams with tall persons to defend on corners and such, since he is sooooo short.

Some information about him on the club website.

Oh, so he is only signed up to the 2019/2020 season.  We need to sign him on a 5 year contract, and soon.

Get him on £100K a week LOL

Has James been injured? He hasn’t been in the squad the last 2 games.

Yeah, he’s injured.

[Phillip]

Eskimo Turk?   What's up with that?

Yes, he is fighting an injury.  Damn, too slow on the draw, as always.  Sorry.

[Imran_CFC]

What most impressed me about him was his through ball to Abraham, that was the first time we actually got in behind Arsenal's defence and that gave some of our attackers confidence and that allowed us to grow into the game.

I had my doubts that throwing this kid in at the deep end in a high- pressure London derby was a good idea, but he did very well. What other recent Chelsea manager would have taken that chance?
