What's new

Timo Werner

I really hope this goes through!!!

Not been this excited about a signing since we were linked to sign Costa.

I made a comment on another Chelsea site just yesterday about how I didn't think Chelsea were actually in for the player, and that they were trying to force - or more so push - Liverpool .... Wow that is looking to be a pretty big swing and a miss if the multiple reports are to be believed. Freezing cold take here

I wonder where he'll play if he signs. He's not really a pure striker in a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 at least so wouldn't be surprised if the intention is to play him off the left.

I think he would take Willian, Pedro spots and can help out Tammy and Giroud up top. Maybe this versatility is something Frank values. Mount, Ziyech both able to play many different spots.

Best part about this? He's a lethal finisher and will put away a lot of those chances we have struggled to put away this season.

So despite CL football far from secure for next season we've attracted the star man from that tournament of last season and have the best attainable striker seriously considering us.

I'm not going to call people out individually but there were a few people insistent we wouldn't attract top talent without CL.

I hope this is all true. He's a player that we need and that would fit in pretty fast.

Fantastic news if confirmed. Top quality young striker. And a strong statement of intent.

I think we’re still due the transfer fee for Morata so that would make it a nice piece of business all round.

“Liverpool are like an NFL team under the salary cap after a couple of successful seasons. Too many existing players in line for pay rises/extensions, little room to manoeuvre when it comes to signing new players. Chelsea are the opposite - lean and agile after a year of sales.“
