Have to confess I'm intrigued by the return to Atletico. Will be watching tomorrow night. Just realised too that Fernando made more league appearances for us than he did for Liverpool.

Glad it's all over, don't understand why we didn't deal with Atletico directly but going the long route via Milan. Wouldn't be surprised if we play against them in the CL this year.

Yes very true. He seemed to have more injuries at Liverpool than he did with us ironically even though his injuries at Liverpool have curtailed his career somewhat. His appearances and stats with both clubs:

Liverpool (2007-2011) - 142 Appearances, 81 Goals

Chelsea (2011-2014) - 172 Appearances, 45 Goals

In general I'd agree but this wasn't some sh*t team in the league this was the European Champs, fair play to the lad!

Double against Real Madrid is no easy feat regardless of the quality of the rest of the league. His first goal was taken very well on his left foot too which was pretty surprising as I remember him regularly trying to Rabona cross just to avoid using his left foot.

Just proves how sh*t the Spanish league is
Not really. Costa and sanchez are scoring for fun in their first season in PL, but in general the spanish teams don't use negative tactics unlike many teams here in England so more open games and opportunities to score. I think madrid ahould have started with varane tbh, that ramos and pepe partnership is not very good. Credit to Atletico though, they pretty much neutralised the whole madrid team from open play.

If I'm not mistaken that was Reals first team XI, fair play v he took them well, didn't celebrate like I thought he would though!!!

Man, when was the last time he scored 2 goals, in training?

I always thought Atletico has a habit of getting goals out of their strikers, maybe the returning Torres will be another example.
