Wesley Fofana at Chelsea *Official*

Really solid game today. Was good both defending and going forwards. First half he got very little defensive support from Neto and sometimes had to cover two players. He looked disappointed to be subbed for the last 20 minutes but he had run his race by then.

Probably one of the first times we have seen a hint of the player I was delighted we signed. Hopefully a sign of things to come without 66 injuries and with better commitment on his part.

When a team changes style and managers there are always a couple of players who completely turn around their form.

Maybe Fofana could be one of them.

The tackle he made on the edge of our box in the first half was class. Had to make up ground to get the right side of the player and had time it spot on.

I have a hard time rating that performance as good. Too many errors from him, especially when it came to heading the ball. Standards should be a lot higher.

When it comes to posting in the Fofana thread you need to use your other account @nonotnowscott

He could score a hatrick and make 6 goal line clearances and you still wouldn't give him any credit.

I'll give him credit when he earns it. A game where he did a few things well but mistimed so many headers is not my idea of a good performance.

He gives anything other than the bare minimum and people start pretending like he’s turned a corner. He gets paid £200k a week and I don’t consider him a better option than Acheampong on that right hand side. Cut the losses and easily replaceable.

As one of his former fans, I fully agree. In fact the thing that struck me against both Fulham and Brighton is that they are incredibly similar with the same strengths and weakness.

The only differences being that Acheampong is one of our own, is 5 years younger and still has a drivers' licence.

Embarrassed by Havertz throughout. I've never seen him play a game of football where he plays with any kind of control. Rarely seems to read a header correctly, everything is a split second tackle or block, or he is rushing into players to get tight. He doesn't read anything, it's like he is always guessing.

Kurt Zouma but less smiley and more c**ty

Right footed defender playing on the left to deal with left footed players cutting inside.

What does he do with Havertz in the first half. Oh yes shows him inside and allows him all the time in the world to shoot. Nice one Wes.

I didn't see the game live, but having watched the highlights, I'd have an issue with Fofana on both goals.

He is blocking Josh and needs to be dropped. Can't time a header to save his life, always scrambling to get back in position, not that quick, not that physical. And comes across as a bit of a fool. He epitomizes everything that is wrong with Chelsea.
