That really is clutching at straws Bluenut - our set piece delivery was been appalling long long long before Jose left. Even if we are chopping and changing takers now at least we are trying to do something about it - under Jose we just carried out taking them badly!

However I will give you defensive set pieces - under Jose we were as well drilled as any team could ever hope to be.

4-5 different corner takers in each match, whats that all about

yeah, how dare we have 3 or 4 players who can take dead balls, meaning we can mix up the deliveries and confuse the defence. that makes no sense at all......

Do we have 4-5 players who can actually deliver a decent corner that clears the 1st man? Cos we've been consistantly inconsistant with dead ball deliveries all season! You don't need 4-5 taker's to variate the corners, just someone who delivers it to where it needs to go. Have variations of corners but not takers. It just shows to me it's not something thats been seriously worked on in training. Our set pieces this season have been woeful.

When Frank was taking all the corners he was getting dogs abuse. Since we have switched it round I'm longing for Frank to come back. He may have been inconsistent but used to get our fair share of goals from them. Now we are much more consistent - consistently bad.

was gonna post the same thing bluenut. drogba is probably our best defensive headerer. the amount of clearances he makes from corners is very impressive. alex seems to win most of his headers now, but other than him we arent blessed with too many good set piece defenders.

Belletti is the only player I have seen this season deliver a corner that could be described as half decent.

The set-piece delivery, (and also the crossing from the flanks), by Villa in the 4-4 was excellent. Why can't our boys do that?
