FIFA is such a mess and that dick Blatter needs to piss off, he's no good to the game at all.

 
It's like watching an episode of the apprentice, when you see dimwits screwing up time and time again, except no-one responsible gets fired at the end

I honestly think he's clinging because when he goes all the sh*t will come out, and he's screwed. Strange how every time there's a vote his opponents decide to stand down isn't it.
 
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich was reportedly spied on by MI6 during an investigation into Russia's controversial 2018 World Cup bid.

The nation's bid is accused of being riddled with corruption after The Sunday Times released a 13-page dossier regarding the alleged conduct during the process.

According to The Independent, it has been claimed that Abramovich was part of a 'select group of oligarchs' picked by Russian president Vladimir Putin to make sure that the bid was successful.

A former MI6 agent told The Sunday Times that Abramovich held private meetings with FIFA president Sepp Blatter.

Fifa: Michael Garcia resigns in World Cup report row
Fifa's independent ethics investigator Michael Garcia has resigned in protest over the handling of his World Cup bidding report.

Garcia's findings were released as a 42-page summary by Fifa-appointed independent judge Hans-Joachim Eckert.

But American lawyer Garcia said the summary was "erroneous" and complained to world governing body Fifa, which said his appeal was "not admissible".

Garcia investigated the bidding process for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.

"For the first two years … I felt that the ethics committee was making real progress in advancing ethics enforcement at Fifa,†Garcia wrote. “In recent months, that changed.â€
 
It's all become rather embarrassing but short of something major happening like UEFA breaking away from FIFA then nothing is going to change. 
 
Embarrassing for Fifa. Surely it will only lead to them being under pressure to release the full report?

If there was no corruption, they would release the report. Clearly there has been.

 
The report itself was commissioned by them, their justification is likely to be that through judge Hans-Joachim Eckert they've already released the reports findings. 

The problem is FIFA doesn't answer to anyone and so they've investigated their own corruption and unsurprisingly have come out of it smelling like roses (according to them). 

I don't know what the answer is, maybe if some of their biggest sponsors threatened to walk away unless the full report is made public, then FIFA might think twice but I doubt it.

To be honest I think the corporate sponsors are every bit as corrupt as Fifa, Uefa and just about every other major sports organisation.

 
We won't see any real change until Blatter and his army of corrupt loyalists all go.

Unfortunately though, those turkeys just won't vote for Christmas.

 
Cant Garcia 'accidently' leave his laptop in a cafe with the report open for it to be wikileaked, please?

 
BBC's Dan Roan is predicting a whitewash by Blatter today, he speculates that Blatter will question Garcia's motives and drop in a few references to the fact he has been paid pretty hefty sums. 

"Now he has gone, expect Blatter, when he holds a news conference here on Friday, to question Garcia's motives. The US lawyer, we may be reminded, was aware of the Fifa rules that prevent full disclosure of such investigations. He and his company were happy to accept millions of dollars' worth of fees.

Only when he needed to distance himself from Fifa for his own sake, it may be suggested, did Garcia protest. This was self-preservation, not principle, we'll be told."

Asked if Garcia's resignation was a new low for world football's governing body, Fifa vice-president Jim Boyce, from Northern Ireland, responded: "I don't think there's any doubt about that."

Britain's most senior football official said he has always thought "as much of this report as is legally possible should be put in the public domain".

He added: "Until that is done, it's not going to go away. If people have nothing to hide, why are they afraid of something being issued?"

Its gonna be heavily edited. Wouldn't surprise me if they removed all the bad stuff.

And now its seems an "heavily redacted" version is to be released, I`m sure that will be fair.
