Man City Charges

Yeah and then we posted a 128m profit the year after. We are able to generate a lot of revenue if necessary. Something Bournemouth cant do.

Either way, the point of my post wasn't the exact figures, I was giving a rough guide to the problem with wanting Bournemouth to be allowed to spend beyond their means to "compete" with the big clubs.
Bournemouth are doing quite nicely without spending beyond their means.

Everyone banging on about how PSR/FFP is only to prevent anyone other than United, Arsenal or Liverpool from wining anything; well how about instead of just waiting for a multi billionaire to buy Bournemouth or Hartlepool or Accrington Stanley, why don’t they just introduce a salary cap of half a million pounds a year for the squad? Then surely everyone can actually chase the dream of winning the league rather than hoping Elon Musk decides to buy their provincial town team? Or would that be too even for the liking of supporters of the top sides other than Utd Arsenal and Liverpool?

It’d bring down ticket prices and Sky subscriptions and give everyone the hope of success. Maybe a huge tombola with all the players names in everyone takes a turn to pick a squad? That’d be much fairer to everyone surely? It’s not like there’s been much sign of the oil states or Russian billionaires choosing to buy Gillingham or Carlisle United instead of large established City clubs like Chelsea or Man City. Let everyone dream!
I'd rather the money I spend on the club go towards us buying new players and improving the club, not towards some American billionaire making more profit.

That is what a salary cap would achieve. It wouldn't bring down prices at all. We aren't owned by a charity.

Football became the best sport in the world by not having a level playing field. The introduction of VAR and FFP has been to the detriment of entertainment. Small clubs shouldn't have a god given right to challenge for the title. If they want to build a sustainable model and build their clubs up so be it, if a club has a rich owner let them spend.
Bring back noughties football and bring back black football boots with tongues.

Bring back real medicine while you're at it.

Great idea using Bournemouth....maybe look into the fines they received for breaching FFP, they broke finance rules to get in to the prem.

The Irony in Arsenal being the biggest whiners in all this, they designed all these years ago, paying players offshore to avoid taxes for years, using overseas clubs to store players and pay lower transfer fees, then theres George Grahams bungs....

I am feeling relatively uncomfortable with the massive pile on.

City need to be relegated from the league and their ownership forced to change, but the way people talk (usually other clubs fans) it's as if they should be eradicated as a club entirely. That's not good for football.

Was the same when we were sanctioned.

I get it.. as it stems from a frustration that ultimately politics/money/corruption will win out, and they’ll get off light.

Only reason some Chelsea fans are appearing to be “cucks’ for City is aside from league and FA Cup defeats, we were simply not in the fight, they haven’t affected the club in the way Liverpool (especially), Arsenal/United have been affected. Maybe if Putin had done us a fake sponsor we’d have been the ones to re-sign KDB and compete with their dominance, who knows. Aside from dodgy agent fees, we’ve been too squeaky clean, and really got on board with FFP for the most part. If City get away with it, this should (right so) open the flood gates for Newcastle to just say ‘f**k it’ and do the same, surely.

their owner lives on Sandbanks nr. Poole passed his property in the summer on a boat. - hes got more money than people realise. (Sandbanks is similar to Monaco in terms of property cost per square foot.) It would take a lot to go beyond his means.

I don't know why you've taken the view that people on here have a thing about Bournemouth??
