So I'm not new to this forum, as you can tell by my sign up date, but haven't properly introduced myself yet. I've been a chelsea fan since 2002 (24 now) which is why I was hesitant to post stuff as many on here would have considered me a glory hunter, which I most certainly am not! Anyhoo, thought I'd say hi finally!

Ps Great work on getting a mobile site up and running! Will be posting my humble opinions on stuff more often

I spent a year living there (Nottingham that is, not Hooters). Had an evening job in the Punchbowl just down the hill from Mapperley (worked at Experian in the day)

Really annoying because I can remember seeing it often like on my way to work or something but can't put my finger on it.

No idea what building it is as I left there about 14 years ago. All I remember was that it was based on the outskirts near a night club with a name that had the word Black in it (I think). We used to get a free bus to it from the city centre (bus picked us up very near a bar that I used to go to jazz nights in on a Thursday night)

Not so tough - I went there week in week out! The memory problem was the next morning!

Strictly speaking, Maks (and I know you like to speak strictly) they were conquered by the Normans, who at the time were not considered French. They were also "conquered" by the Scots, in as much as, lacking a King/Queen of their own, they invited James VI of Scotland to come down to London and rule over them.

The English have a very selective memory process!

He might have had French mercenaries along with his Normans. All I was saying really was that in 1066 Normandy didn't consider itself French in the way it is now.

Normans descended from Vikings, didn't they? The name "Norman" means "men of north" or something along those lines, right?

Exactly! So the English have really been conquered by Vikings from Normandy and Picts from Scotland - mind you James VI's grandmother was Marie de Guise, from France, so there you have it - England well and truly under the thumb of Vikings, Scots and French. Maybe if we dug far enough back we could find some Finns that trounced the English??
