Anelka..

Worth a risk I agree. Any attitude issues would be snuffed by good ol' Henk Ten Cate.

And I would also look at getting Huntelaar in either January or Summer.

Really wouldn't mind getting him. Yakubu is a great player and I think he could do really well with us.

If we continue to play 4-3-3 I really wouldn't mind playing: Yakubu - Drogba - Anelka

some here would settle for a Jimmy mark II, but lets not open up that can of worms again.

cant see the similarities myself and the Jak is a decent target man who leads the line well.

While Jose was slated and called boring for playing thru a target man up front, I find it ironic that Avram wants to enforce his 'entertaining style' of play on us and we're linked with the likes of Yakubu and Kenwin Jones who are direct replacements for Didier.

New way forward or copying what we've already got

It's a winning formula, doesn't need much changing just a little tweaking here and there.

don't think he plans wholesale changes, just a tweak here and there.

and you have to admit, one of our failings over the last few seasons was that on occasions we were unable to kill the opposition off.

Yes, let's not open that can of worms...BUT...while I rate Yakubu, he is one lazy SOB, who thrills on counter attack/pace.

When he's up to it, that is.

I would think out of the possibilities Anelka could be a great signing,

He is a very good player and the Premeirship is not a problem for him, he would be a good aquisition.

obviously his temperament has been in question but lately he's been pretty quiet and worth giving the beneit of the doubt to I'D say.

I'd take him with open arms. Hiolds the ball up well, knows where the goal is and knows the premiership. Allardyce got him working for the team as well which is something he never used to do.

Too many people assume Anelka will be sulking and complaining all the time, but we already have Drogba and have had Gallas. They didnt do too badly when it comes down to it, despite them being the biggest whingers on the planet.

i thing we better to bay wanger love from cska moscwa

bicose he 23 years he have style like drogba strong

anelka is old 28 years

he need 1-2 years for adoption

sorry for my bad english

I actually uite liked the idea of anelka about 4 years ago but was in the minority then. Oppinion hasnt changed, player with fantastic ability and i think will relish the chance to show it one more time on the big stage!!

Your english is fine Valim we understand you, Where in Balkans are you from?

The thing is Anelka would not need 1-2 years to adapt (I think that's what u meant?) because he has played in the premiership for many many years. Wagner Love has never experienced the Premiership, so his quality here is an unknown at the moment. Not saying he would not be a good signing, but we have no way of knowing it.

Also 28 is by no means old. We have many young players coming through like Sinclair and Sahar, but we need a striker who can handle the business NOW, not a few years later.

That's why I am so for Anelka. I don't want any adjustment period, I dont want any relocation problems, none of that. I want someone who can walk in the team, and start banging them in IMMEDIATELY, I really believe Anelka could do that for us.

I have always been against Anelka for the moaning minnie reasons however in fairness to him he does appear to have calmed down in that respect and IF we are to target a striker in January then he would be an obvious choice for all the reasons mentioned (i.e. accustomed to Premiership, available for CL duties and still the right side of 30)

I wouldn't mind us getting Anelka, he's played in the Premiership before and has scored goals wherever he has been. Only problem is his temperament and he does seem to be a bit of a sulker and a moaner, although he got that reputation when he was younger, and he's probably matured a bit since then.

Another thing is the price, how much would Bolton want for him? Some rumours are that they want £10-£15m which would be a bit too much imo.

We are setting ourselves up for distaster. We wont play Sheva or Pizarro yet are depending on them for a vital month, the busiest month, of the season. How the hell are they supposed to get match fit?

This has disaster written all over it. We could do a lot worse then Anelka at the moment, at least he is being allowed to kick a ball.
