You'd think people would understand book value given the past 3 years. Flipping on the players' original transfer value isn't looked at in the accounting perspective.

This is actually a £35-40m book value profit if this goes through.

Assume I am wrong, but my back of fag packet calculations....

Cost of £28.5m, on a 7 yr contract - back the fee could be amortised over 7 years.

Thats a £4million book value per year.

5 yrs remaining on contract, meaning remaining book value is £20m

If we get £50m, that is around a £30m bankable profit, plus freeing up whatever salary he is on.

How do you get £35-40m?

Club have rejected the £50m fee and want something close to Elanga/Kudus, so roughly £55-60m.

 
I think this will work out similarly to the Havertz deal. He'll do well enough there that it's a justified signing, but we will not miss the player - and much better options will go for the same/less money. I don't mind Madueke but I don't think he has many levels to go up.

I believe with the exception of CHO (huge fail there money wise) and Connor (not the ££ itself, but the Felix deal + KDH to replace him was idiotic), they've been doing a fine job at selling players: Havertz, Mount, Maatsen (even though it was another shady deal), even Lukaku which was hard to deal with. Their problem lies in the other way, when they can't help themselves buying every single u21 player that becomes available for £20m+.

Can't remember a time when the transfer guys just dug in and want a higher offer. Off the top of my head the news always report that we proposed A, buyer proposes B then we meet somewhere in the middle even though we can fleece them. Mount, Havertz etc was sold without much argument as far as I know.

Absolutely agree. If Elanga is £55m, then we should be getting as much, or probably more.

In top tier english football, Noni has 29 goal involvements (20 goals and 9 assists) for us, across 4886 minutes. A goal every 168 minutes.

Elanga has 40 goal involvements (15 goals and 25 assists) for forest and united, across 7737 minutes. A goal every 193 minutes. Since Joining Forest, he has averaged a goal contribution every 169 minutes - only slightly worse than Noni.

 
EXCLUSIVE: Noni Madueke to Arsenal, here we go! Fee agreed in excess of £50m with add-ons included, green light from Chelsea.

Madueke already agreed five year deal at Arsenal days ago and he’s now set to complete the move.

The winger leaves #CFC to join #AFC.

 
PSG have accumulated a squad that is not only talented, but also hard working and if we are doing something similar, Noni has to go based on the latter.

Totally fine with this.

They dont see it as an upgrade, they think the fee is too high and they dont enjoy the ultra slow speed that their board operate in the transfer market. Apart from that its all good 😂
