Arsenal vs Chelsea (PL) Sunday 6th September 16:30 GMT

Arsenal will just tear through of midfield of injured full backs to face panicking Colwill and our heralded front three will not score 3 or 4 against a quality defence. Our wining start ends.
Don't think Alonso will be consulting you for any help with his pre-match pep-talk!!

Immovable object vs Unstoppable force kind of game. A team that is playing some of the best free flowing attacking football in Europe vs Stoke-on-Thames.

I’d quite happily take a draw from the view of no points dropped to a title rival but if we lose I hope it’s at the expense of Raya’s ACL.

Meslier or Kepa for a full season fills my heart with joy.

Nothing to lose here. Worst it can happen is that they go on 9 points while we stay on 6 points after Round 3. That means nothing, it's early September only.

Before we talk of James and Lavia potentially not being fit at some point, we are in a moment in which reality beats any assumptions. They are fit, ready to go and we have a fully functioning midfield for this match. Hopefully Caicedo is fine as well.

A win for us would also take us on 9 points which means nothing so early in the season. But would do wonders for our confidence. Arsenal know they will go for the league title. For us it is still more like paper talk than actual feeling among the players and fans. But a win at the Emirates could be the catalyst of greater things from a mental point of view.

The reality is we will probably lose to leArse on Sunday, they are well ahead of us and at the moment they are simply just a better side.

That being said, if we play with confidence and adventure I'll put up with a loss, at least it will be entertaining football as opposed to the negative sh*te of the last few seasons only to lose anyway, and you never know we could have a red letter day.

C'mon the Chels

Our left side has been an issue, so need to make changes there I feel. Also need players in their natural roles.

Martinez

James

Acheampong

Lacroix

Hato

Chavarria

Lavia

Barco

Palmer

Joao Pedro

Rogers

If Caicedo can play then put him in place of Barco.

James as a defensive wing back. Width from deep, we know he can cross or pass a ball in a penny, let him do that while keeping our right side strong.

Arsenal have been largely outplayed by us in every game for the last two years but come away with the result, usually through a red card and/or set piece goals.

Perhaps its time for the reverse.

Well we won't have a midfield so more giving up possession and punting the ball to them like Brighton I guess.

If Alonso was making a point starting Gusto in midfield in the last game how will he react to our debacle at the end of the window? Perhaps Penders in midfield.
I guess if there were any average defensive midfield free agents we could sign as a temporary measure we wouldn’t be able to register them?

I guess Palestra is out for a while?

From Sky Italia posted this morning:

Speaking to Sky Italia at the Gran Gala del Calcio ceremony, Palestra delivered a positive update on his recovery.

“I'm fine, it's still a few days away, but I feel much better,” he said.

From the ceremony.

I think the deadline is noon on Friday to be able to play on Sunday. Not going to happen.

Aye as Scott says will be back soon, but best case is bench for Arsenal.

Come a bit early for us. Not fussed about the result. As long as we look to go at them quickly when we get the ball, like we have been doing, Ill be happy.

For some reason I though the international break came after this game, but no it is a few weeks later and we have Leeds in the cup on Wednesday.

Will that affect Alonsos selection for Arsenal? Unlikely but it may mean Gusto in midfield for either Leeds or Hull after.

This is not a strong team. There are excellent players in some positions, but overall it's really nothing close to Arsenal IMO.

They're better than us pretty much everywhere except attack, and the gap gets even bigger once you look at the bench. Arsenal have far better options to change the game with five substitutions in the second half.

Should be a good game.

I mean, we’ve already proved that we really don’t need much possession to absolutely rip teams apart.

So the best thing Arsenal can do is make sure we don’t get the ball. At all. Or they’ll be in trouble.

They’re not very good at attacking, so maybe our defence can hold their ground. We’ll see.

And that's my worry! Brighton already did that to us at the Bridge (~74%), and Arsenal are a lot better at keeping the football—especially at home.

They are champions for a reason, and better than us everywhere bar attack.

Best team does not always win though. Perhaps Sunday is our day.

The small and medium clubs cause upsets without always being the best team on the day. It rarely happens in the big games and if ever with Chelsea. We wont win with a smash and grab, so we really need to be at our very best with what we have. Alonso needs to make sure his system is super effective. Don't see how we win but a draw would be nice.
